Santa Maria Petroleum Inc. Announces the Appointment of Cameron Dow as CFO

Santa Maria Petroleum Inc. (formerly Quetzal Energy Ltd.) (TSX VENTURE:SMQ)
announces the appointment of Cameron Dow, C.A. as Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
effective June 1, 2013. 


Mr. Dow has been with Company since September 2010 as the Finance Manager and
former Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Santa Maria, Mr. Dow was the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Financial Controller of Sea Dragon Resources
Ltd. Mr. Dow was previously Interim CFO of Calvalley Petroleum Inc. and a
Partner of Daunheimer & Dow LLP Chartered Accountants, in Calgary. Cameron is a
graduate of Queen's University and received his Chartered Accountant's
designation in 1986. 


Mr. John Martin, C.A. the former CFO, provided his services under a contract
which expired on May 31, 2013. Santa Maria would like to thank Mr. Martin for
his contribution during his tenure with the Company. 


The appointment of Mr. Dow remains subject to regulatory approval.
