Perlite Canada Inc. Announces its Results for for the Third Quarter of 2012

Perlite Canada inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:PCI) announces hereby the
results for its third quarter 2012 ended on July 31, 2012 (the "3rd Quarter
2012").


The Company generated revenues of $1,331,822 during the third quarter ended July
31, 2012 (the "3rd Quarter 2012) compared to $1,601,043 as at July 31, 2011,
which represents a decrease of approximately 17%. As occurred during the second
quarter 2012, decrease of sales during the 3rd Quarter 2012 is mainly
attributable to the three following reasons: i) peat moss shortage in the
horticultural market, ii) significant price raises for vermiculite during the
last two years and iii) the increase of the Canadian currency during the last
years in relation to the American currency. For the nine month period ended July
31, 2012, total sales were $4,663,311 compared to $5,389,949 for the same period
in 2011, being a decrease of approximately 14 %. This decrease is attributable
to a sales drop that occurred during 2nd Quarter and 3rd Quarter 2012 for the
reasons explained above. Indeed, sales amount for the 1st Quarter 2012 was 5%
higher than sales amount for the 1st Quarter of the previous fiscal year, in
2011.


The Company recorded a loss before taxes of $326 655 during the 3rd Quarter 2012
compared to a loss before taxes of $89 805 for the third quarter of 2011. For
the nine month period ended July 31, 2012, the company generated a loss before
taxes of $384,710 compared to a loss before taxes of $61,375 for the nine month
period ended July 31, 2011. 


The significant increase of the loss before income taxes is mainly explained by
an exceptional amount of consultant fees retained by the Company to help the
Company prepare an action plan in order to reduce the operation costs, study its
cash flow, prepare financial forecasts and establish a pricing structure. During
the 3rd Quarter 2012, these professional fees totaled $86 424. The increase of
the loss before income taxes is also explained by the registration of a
severance payment totalling 187 400$ as of July 31, 2012 following the abolition
of a management position within the context of the rationalisation plan. This
severance payment is payable in a 12 month period and was given pursuant to an
employment agreement between the Company and the manager. The manager will
continue to act as a director of the Company and will assist the Company within
the context of its activities. Management believes that these professional fees
as well as the severance payment which together totaled 273,824$ are exceptional
and non-recurrent expenses.
