Newton Energy Corporation Announces Results of Annual and Special Meeting

Newton Energy Corporation (TSX VENTURE:NTN) (the "Company" or "Newton") is
pleased to announce that at the annual and special meeting of the shareholders
of the Corporation, the following resolutions were approved:




1.  The fixing of the number of directors of the Corporation at six (6) and
    election of the directors (as set out below);

2.  The appointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP as the auditors of the
    Corporation for the ensuing year; and

3.  The approval of the Company's stock option plan.



The Board of Directors of Newton now consists of Merv Chia, Steve Engwall, Frank
Stack, Arthur Bray, Jimmy Chow and Philip Birch.


We welcome Mr. Birch to the board of directors of the Company. Mr. Birch is also
the Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
