WINNIPEG, Manitoba - (September 25, 2013) - Donald Benson, Chairman and CEO of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. (the "Company" or "Nordic"), (TSXV: NOG) announced today that Nordic, along with its sister company, Desoto Resources Limited ("Desoto"), have filed a Statement of Claim in the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta against Her Majesty the Queen and the Government of Alberta and The Alberta Energy Regulator, and/or The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board, and/or The Energy Resources Conservation Board of Alberta. The suit is being brought against the Defendants with regard to the damage caused to Nordic's 11-13-38-25 W4 well in Joffre, Alberta.

Nordic and Desoto are claiming that the defendants did willfully damage the well and associated reservoir of the well through the use of abandonment methods unreasonable in the circumstances. Nordic and Desoto are also claiming that the Defendants pre-emptively proceeded with abandonment having not given reasonable consideration to the fact that the well was causing no threat to any person, corporation or governing body during the period of time that the Courts of Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal, were considering Appeals of the Plaintiff in regard to the Plaintiff`s valid claim to the rightful ownership of the well in question and the mineral rights upon which the well was drilled. The Appeal Court ruled on April 1, 2011 in favour of the Plaintiffs, and the mineral lease and well ownership have been subsequently restored in the name of the Plaintiffs.

"The damaged well has caused us to suffer innumerable hardships, including loss of income, and loss of capital appreciation of the Company's assets," Mr. Benson stated.

Nordic and Desoto are seeking specific damages of $5,000,000 for the recovery of costs associated with the drilling and testing of the well and the loss of income from the failure of being permitted by the Defendant from producing the well. The companies further seek Punitive damages of $10,000,000 for the high handed conduct by the Defendant in the deliberate, wilful breach of its duty and obligations, and callous disregard for the rights and interests of the Plaintiffs and as such warrant an award of punitive damages.
