Hellix Files Drill Permit Application for Athabasca

HELLIX VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:HEL)(OTCBB:HLLXF) - Frank Underhill,
President, announces that the Company has filed a Notice of Work Application to
the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources for its
upcoming drill program on the Athabasca gold property near Nelson, B.C.


The surface drill program is designed to intersect the western down-dip
extension of the vein system as evidenced by the results of our sampling program
reported in our November 23, 2011 news release. This will evaluate the potential
for continued gold-bearing veins in that direction.


It is anticipated that a review and decision on our application will be
forthcoming near the beginning of the field season.


Hellix also plans to open up the main #2 portal of the historic Athabasca
underground (a permit application is underway), and continue with shorter-spaced
soil sampling at anomalous gold locations discovered during our sampling program
last season.


We anticipate results on the twelve-hole drill program at our Margarita property
in Arizona within the next 2 to 3 weeks. A video and photographs of the drilling
