Curlew Lake Resources Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CWQ)(PINK SHEETS:CWLXF)
announces it has acquired an additional 46,080 acres of Alberta metallic &
industrial mineral rights in the Halverson Ridge area near Halverson gasfield.
This land adjoins the land outlined in our News Release dated January 18, 2011.

The area was sampled by a joint program by Alberta Geological Survey and the
Geological Survey of Canada. Results of the reconnaissance survey were published
in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 5807/AGS ERCB Special Report 071
"Geochemical, Mineralogical and Kimberlite Indicator Mineral Electron Microprobe
Data from Silts, Heavy Mineral Concentrates and Waters from National Geochemical
Reconnaissance Stream Sediment and Water Surveys in the Northeastern and
Southern Clear Hills, Alberta."

Exploration in northwest Alberta is of high importance to the Alberta government
and fieldwork and research is actively supported by the Alberta Geological
Survey and considerable effort has been invested into fieldwork on the Buffalo
Head Hills kimberlite field and the Clear Hills iron ore deposits.

Open File 5807 Geochemical/Mineralogical, year 2008, provides sample locations,
maps and spreadsheets showing significant gold values on the east flank of
Halverson Ridge and Halverson Hills.

EUB/AGS issued Earth Sciences Report 2006-04 "Structure Mapping For the Clear
Hills-Smoky River Region Using Well-Log Data and Geostatistical Analysis"
supports Halverson, Clear Hills and Hotchkiss area exploration. This study is a
valuable contribution to the GSC Lithoprobe deep seismic surveys and HRAM
aeromagnetic surveys in identifying previously unknown fault patterns. Faults,
structure and cross-faults are areas of mineral exploration because there may be
concentrations of minerals in magmas and hydrothermal deposits.

In-house analysis of recent fault mapping by the AGS and a review of analytical
applications of HRAM aeromagnetic mapping and gravity mapping techniques,
suggest that the Clear Hills and Halverson Ridge area of northwest Alberta are
clearly underexplored.

Current aeromagnetic and gravity interpretation techniques used in oil and gas
companies are being applied to finding previously unknown faults in
underexplored areas. Theoretical graben and fault-bound structures are being
investigated by Curlew Lake using the mineralogical and microprobe data provided
by the GSC and AGS to design a field exploration program.

Gold values (111-7300 ppb) associated with a mapped fault and kimberlite
indicator minerals from on the newly acquired lands in Township 93, Range 4 and
Range 5, West of the 6th Meridian suggest that further sampling and mapping is
justified on these lands and in order to narrow down the hunt for the source of
the mineralization discovered by previous fieldwork.

Curlew Lake is also continuing with its oil and gas exploration activities, and
will be drilling another potential oil well in central Alberta in the near
future.
