Century Energy Announces Successful Land Sale

Century Energy Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CEY) announces that it was successful in its
bid to acquire the P&NG rights to approximately 1.5 sections of land at a recent
Crown Land Sale in the Edam-North Battleford area of west central Saskatchewan
(the "Vawn Prospect").


Heavy oil potential has been identified in both the McLaren and Waseca sands and
Century believes the Vawn Prospect to be a south-easterly extension of the
prolific producers in the nearby Lloydminster-Edam Waseca Pool. Century
partnered on a 50/50 basis with a private company whose management has a long
history of heavy oil experience in both cold and Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage
(SAGD) production. This fits well with plans to develop this property and is
consistent with Century's current focus and growth strategy.
