Cobalt Coal Announces Appointment to the Board of Directors

Cobalt Coal Ltd. (formerly Cobalt Coal Corp.) (TSX VENTURE:CCF) ("Cobalt" or the
"Corporation") is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. William (Bill)
Iannaci of Toronto, Ontario to its Board of Directors, subject to regulatory
approval. 


Mr Iannaci is currently the President and CEO of Royal Laser Inc., a
privately-held company involved in specialized metal fabrication. He was founder
and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Laser Corp., which was listed on the
Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") from 2003 until its privatization in 2010. From
1996 until 2002, Mr. Iannaci held various positions including President,
Industrial Division followed by Chief Executive Officer, with Martinrea
International Inc., a TSX listed automotive manufacturing company. Mr Iannaci
founded a predecessor company to Martinrea International Inc. in 1988.


Mr Iannaci is a professional engineer that graduated from Ryerson University in
Toronto, Ontario. He has worked principally in the manufacturing sector and has
served on the Board of Directors of several TSX Venture Exchange ("TSX-V")
listed companies in the past.
