Global Hunter Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BOB)(FRANKFURT:G5D)("Global Hunter" or "the Company") is pleased to provide an update on its corporate and project operations to date and its plans for the new year. The Company is confident in the value of its assets and remains positive in its outlook for 2009. In the best interest of its shareholders the Company intends to explore its projects to their fullest potential to realize their greatest value in the best timelines with consideration to the current economic conditions. A combination of the initiatives discussed below and upcoming growth opportunities should enable Global Hunter to continue to create value during these difficult times. FINANCING The Company is in the final stages of completing a $3,500,000 private placement as announced on December 22, 2008, subject to acceptance by the TSX. Proceeds from the private placement will be carefully allocated to ensure maximum benefit at minimum cost. "We are pleased to be completing a multi-million private placement in this difficult climate. We are very aware of the strain these economic changes can place on a company and its investors and look forward to using our experience and expertise to get our team through this extraordinary time. Although copper prices have fallen in recent months, we believe the fundamentals are strong. If prices remain low we believe the overall costs of production will fall significantly to offset this. We continue to study the markets as we advance our projects and will be poised to take advantage of the turnaround when it comes," stated Rod Husband, President and CEO of Global Hunter Corp. PROJECTS Las Posadas shear zone at La Corona de Cobre project - Chile, South America The Company has recently achieved several key milestones in its project plans at Las Posadas. These milestones include the completion of an Environmental Baseline Study by Arcadis Geotecnica of Chile and tall-column and bottle roll testing for acid consumption on the project. A report of results is currently under review and results will be released once prepared. The plans for Las Posadas and the remaining shear zones at La Corona de Cobre are to successfully complete geological model, revised resource estimate, dimensioning study, economic assessment, pre-feasibility, permitting, and engineering studies in 2009 along with further sampling in the surrounding areas. The dimensioning study in particular will allow Global Hunter to determine the economic parameters needed to build a successful mine. All information acquired from these studies will assist in defining the potential at Las Posadas and the potential upside in its sister shear zones and how best to proceed to develop the project. In addition to Las Posadas, the Corona de Cobre project contains 14 shear zones, several of which are currently being mined for high-grade ore in small scale by local miners. These shear zones have been mapped to varying degrees and detail and areas with sufficient exposure have been sampled and will be assayed shortly. These zones provide the Company with exciting future exploration targets with great economic possibilities to expand its resource base. The Company looks forward to exploring the entire project to fullest potential. Rabbit South - British Columbia, Canada In addition to the developmental work that has been continuing on Las Posadas, the Company recently completed its 2008 exploration and drill work at Rabbit South in British Columbia. The program was designed to test the northern portion of the mineralization to depth and to confirm historical data for a National Instrument 43-101 Resource Estimate. The northern portion of the mineralization had holes previously only drilled to depths of approximately 100 metres and did not intersect the low angle fault that serves as the base of the mineralization in the southern area. The 2008 holes have now confirmed molybdenum mineralization from surface to depths of over 400 metres and assays are being received and will be released following completion of the Company's Quality Assessment / Quality Control and compilation of results. The historic drill data contained several sets of information that needed confirmation to be included in a National Instrument 43-101 Resource Estimate. Initial review of results indicate that the percussion holes will need to be re-drilled as assay values from them were significantly different than with diamond drill holes, however, historic diamond hole results were sufficiently duplicated to be included in the data set. In the upcoming year Global Hunter will continue to drill in the higher-grade zones identified by the 2008 drill program and historic drill holes. With additional drilling Global Hunter plans to further delineate the areas with greatest potential for economic development. The plan will be to define the entire extent of mineralization and identify areas of varying grades to identify higher-grade zones that would help with an economic assessment of the project COMMUNICATIONS The Company has engaged Mr. Tom Corcoran to assist in its shareholder communication objectives and provide a new approach to the Company voice. Mr. Corcoran has over 17 years of corporate marketing, advertising, and media experience with 11 years as a broadcast journalist.
