Bellamont Exploration Ltd. announces appointment of Mr. Tavis A. Carlson as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Office

CALGARY, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - Bellamont Exploration Ltd. (the "Corporation" or "Bellamont") (TSXV:BMX.A) (TSXV:BMX.B) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tavis A. Carlson to the position of Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer effective August 5, 2010. In recognition of his increased responsibilities, Mr. Carlson has been granted 50,000 stock options pursuant to its stock option plan at a price of $0.56 per Class A share, Bellamont's closing price as of August 4, 2010. The options are exercisable over a five year period and vest over three years.
Mr. Carlson has been Controller of the Corporation since June 2008 and Acting Chief Financial Officer since August 2009. As Acting Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Carlson distinguished himself with his contribution to several equity offerings, the corporate acquisition of Standard Energy Inc and an asset acquisition from Storm Exploration Inc., in addition to managing the Corporation's regulatory and financial reporting requirements and the day-to-day finance operations.
Prior to joining Bellamont, Mr. Carlson held various accounting positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, ARC Resources Ltd., and Ryan Energy Technologies. Mr. Carlson graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
