CALGARY, May 17 /CNW/ - Bellamont Exploration Ltd. (the "Corporation" or
 "Bellamont") (TSXV: BMX.A) (TSXV: BMX.B) wishes to announce that Mr.
 Chris Birchard, Vice President, Exploration, has resigned from the
 Company to pursue another business opportunity. The directors and
 management wish to express their gratitude to Mr. Birchard for his
 contributions to the Corporation and we wish him well in his future
 endeavours.


Bellamont has appointed Mr. Steve Babcock, P. Geol., as the acting head
 of the Corporation's Exploration Department until a permanent
 replacement is found.  Mr. Babcock, a consultant to the Corporation
 since its inception, has over 30 years of industry experience, focusing
 mostly in the Peace River Arch Area of Alberta and Northeast British
 Columbia.  Mr. Babcock was a founding investor in the Corporation and
 was the prospector responsible for the discovery of the Corporation's
 Grimshaw Montney oil pool.
