Azabache Announces Closing of Non-Brokered Private Placement

Azabache Energy Inc. ("Azabache" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AZA) announces
that it has closed its previously announced non-brokered private placement (the
"Private Placement"). Pursuant to the Private Placement, Azabache sold an
aggregate of 10,000,000 common shares of the Company (the "Common Shares") at a
price of $0.20 per Common Share for aggregate gross proceeds of $2,000,000. The
Common Shares issued pursuant to the Private Placement will be subject to a four
month hold period expiring on April 12, 2013.


The Company intends to use the proceeds from the Private Placement for drilling
and exploration activities and other costs associated with the Company's
Colombian operations.
