Pathmark Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:PTMK). As consumer health care issues
continue to be at the forefront of public discussion, Pathmark Stores,
Inc., announced that it is launching its Pharmacy Advantage Club in
order to assist qualifying individuals in managing the cost of their
prescription drugs. The program’s initial
enrollment period began on February 23, 2007 and has been extended
through April 28, 2007.
Club participation is open to all Pathmark Advantage Card holders and is
free for all enrollees. Consumers may sign up for a Pathmark Advantage
Card and Club participation at any Pathmark store. While the Pathmark
Pharmacy Advantage Club is not an insurance program, it does offer
qualifying members the opportunity of a $4.00 co-pay on over 300 generic
medications, up to a 30 day supply, at commonly prescribed dosage.
Coverage under the Club program cannot be combined with any other
prescription program. The list of covered drugs is available in all of
Pathmark’s 128 pharmacies as well as the
Pathmark website (www.pathmark.com).
Some of the drug categories that will be covered for those belonging to
the Pharmacy Advantage Club include allergy, asthma, cardiac, diabetes,
thyroid, and cough and cold.
Additionally, customers who join the Club are eligible for priority
scheduling in company-sponsored flu shots and immunization programs, as
well as free bone density, diabetes, and blood pressure screenings.
Commenting on the launch of the program, Pathmark’s
Co-President and Chief Marketing Officer Ken Martindale stated, “We
are pleased to offer this valuable membership to our customers. Our
Pharmacy Advantage Club costs nothing to join and offers consumers
another way to save on their prescription purchases. As always, our
highly skilled pharmacists are available for individual consultation
with our customers in the area of patient care. This program underscores
Pathmark’s ongoing commitment to providing
affordable, high quality health care assistance to the communities we
serve.”
