At the IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking
Conference held today, Motive, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOTVE) will share unique
perspectives on the role of home gateways in the delivery of triple
play services, and the importance of standards in delivering those
services cost-effectively.
As part of a panel focused on the Home Gateway Initiative,
Motive's Heather Kirksey will discuss the organization's technical
guidelines for remote device and service management, and as well as
the relevance of emerging digital home standards from various other
industry groups such as DSL Forum, UPnP Forum, and Digital Living
Network Alliance (DLNA). Ms. Kirksey will also outline steps that
service providers can take in order to ensure interoperability and
manageability for the next-generation of home gateways and other
triple play devices.

About the Home Gateway Initiative
The Home Gateway Initiative (HGI, http://www.homegateway.org) was
formed in March 2005 to boost the market of home communication
services to the millions of broadband customers served by its founding
members. The initiative, with already more than 55 members (as of
September 2005) that are worldwide key players in the Home Gateway and
Broadband Home domain, is driving the development of specifications of
broadband residential gateways supporting the delivery of multi-play
services.
About Heather Kirksey
Heather Kirksey directs strategy and execution of Motive's device
management and digital home standards initiatives, including work
within the DSL Forum, UPnP Forum, Digital Living Network Alliance and
Home Gateway Initiative. She currently serves as co-chair of the
DSLHome Technical Working group within DSL Forum and DSL Forum liaison
officer to the Home Gateway Initiative. In these capacities, Heather
has been editor for numerous DSL Forum documents including WT-121:
TR-069 Implementation Guidelines, WT-123: TR-069 Interoperability and
Conformance Test Plans, and WT-131: ACS Northbound Interface
Requirements, and also helped organize first industry-wide TR-069
plugfest. Heather joined Motive from BroadJump, where she worked in
business development managing CPE partnerships and product integration
efforts.
