Composite Applications for Service Supply Chain Management and Order Management Available Now Click Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq:CKCM), a leading provider of on-demand supply chain management solutions, unveiled a new solution architecture today at Click Planet 2006, the company's annual customer conference. The Click Commerce Composite Application Framework is based on a service-oriented architecture and enables the delivery of tailored solutions without the cost, development, and time required for customization. With the framework, customers can combine application services in Click Commerce products and those of third parties to create new solutions that precisely address particular business problems. These new solutions can be installed on customer premises or be delivered via Software as a Service. The framework utilizes the Click Commerce Enterprise Service Bus, which coordinates and orchestrates the composite applications and the Click Commerce Master Data Management solution, which ensures the accuracy and consistency of data. "Our Composite Application Framework allows us to deliver complex solutions rapidly and without custom application development. It gives our customers the agility and flexibility to extend their enterprises and excel in the real-time global marketplace," said Steve Cole, senior vice president of product management for Click Commerce. "This framework will be the foundation of our software development moving forward." According to an April 13, 2006 research article, "DDSN: Think Relationships, Not Transactions," by Robert Bois and Lora Cecere of AMR Research, "In order to effectively support dynamic business metrics and SLAs, an infrastructure will have to support composite applications that can change over time, take upgrades without recoding custom business logic, and span the boundaries of traditional software suite categories." Also at Click Planet 2006, Click Commerce announced the availability of two composite applications: -- The Click Commerce Service Supply Chain solution, which provides complete end-to-end support of service and repair planning and execution. -- The Click Commerce Extended Order Management solution, which orchestrates the management of orders from businesses and consumers across an extended network of company-owned and third-party facilities.
