Let's be honest if NASA approves your material there isn't a greater validation of your product given the hundreds of billions invested in space projects. Let's not forget Mucell Technology. Why if you could could make packaging for products with 15% less in the first instance would you not use Mucell. Oh yeah then there is Nike and a very professional CEO and CFO with skin in the gameWhat's not to like!!!!!

Not a problem.
Just thinking about marhinal costs and maximising capacity.
Occupational hazard.

Dropped a few today, to balance my holding, after a biggish buy when the markets tanked in March. No foubt a bit premature, but it seemed sensible, after the run upwards.

Very satisfying day - share price looked strong from start to finish and we had a nice close with a UT 5p over the offer. More of the same tomorrow would be very welcome.

Red,

Agreed. Please don't read any negative judgement into my comment - I am glad that that the "low margin" volumes mentioned are serving such an important need. And I am glad that management have successfully redeployed spare capacity.

A profit is a profit, and if it helps to soak up overheads and keep operations going then it is positive.
The fact that the product is being used for such purposes opens up the possibility to new applications that may prove more lucrative in the longer term.
They may also be able to realise better returns from the economies of scale.

Presumably that is some of the lower margin work taken on to pick up covid-slack elsewhere - discussed in the results presentation.

8am is an odd time for a trading update.

The good news re the PPE contract will hopefully see us through £3.

Interesting views from you both. The market really is balanced on a knife edge. We all know it has been massively supported by the FED and UK government but at the same time we know that without that support we would be at really grim levels. That amplifies the tension of the sense of greed and fear. Interesting times.

Saw a report this week that clothing sales online were holding up but footwear was down. I guess running shoes may well be bucking that trend. But who knows. Either way, glad that spare capacity is being used to win market share - even if it is lower margin.

All credit to the company for reaching out to smaller investors in so many ways. Just watched the presentation again and looked at the Q and A. What's clear is that this company has a blue chip client base with unique IP. The share price looks to have rallied so I suspect the large seller is completed. Mucell looks really interesting .

I preferred the link, provided by atonedt, to directors talk.
The webcast presentation glitches detracted from the content,
The former gave me a far better impression of Mr Sterling as a CEO and what the company is up to.
As said, there are some positives around that make me think that the current share price is well overdone, an a very brief skim through the Rns encouraged me to add, at 164p as soon as the markets opened.
It was disappointng to see that, on the day, there were a couple of biggish sellers around, but then again we are indifficult times and liquidity must be an issue for both PI's and institutions.
Re comment on aggressive selling, to optain traction in markets: I hope that doesn't persist for too long. Once a customer gets used to a price point, it can be difficult to dislodge their thinking.

No thought it was really useful to hear from management and hope as he said more companies just the same clarity.Certainly feel that they are a super interesting company with unique ip across a diverse range of customers sectors and products. Covid 19 will end and we will get back to normal and this quality of company with its potential for growth is very special

Some good things I took from the webcast yesterday:

While they make a point of not talking about any need they might have to go to market for funds, they did not consider that was necessary in the current market and could see a 20% decline in revenue before covenants would be tested.

Just 7% exposure to automotive.

Spare capacity was currently being pushed aggressively towards increasing market share in lower margin activities in order to leverage fixed costs effectively.

Rate of growth in High Performance Products (HPP) and the high margins here - one could see how this bodes well for continued growth as this area begins to eclipse Polyolefins in terms of % contribution to overall profitability.

Anyone else who dialled in taking a different view?
