I've never understood how people can have such boring lives that they actually take time to gloat on other people's affairs (plenty of them on advfn unfortunately). It wouldn't even cross my mind to go to a thread of some company I've never invested in and then go act like a smug smartass.

Shaker why do you even care where those people went? I can assure you they don't care the tiniest bit about you and your 'questions', so would be great if you can take a similar attitude. You're a clown.

Over expectation and impatience. The basic story is still alive and in many ways improved. The recent deal with it is thought Disney in in many ways a game changer.

What happened?? When the share price was far far higher this board was full of posters rationalising why it would go far higher, with a business model with high barriers for entry for competitors.
Where are you guys now? Moved on? Still watching? What knocked Zoo off its perch? AI?? Or what?

Recent Zoo articles are bullish about growth.I'm keen to see the next results, and hear how dubbing is doing. If the growth is there and there's a path to profits I think Zoo's looking attractive again.

Struggling to see how Zoo can be affected by the virus.Surely if anything home entertainment will have increased demand. Share price drop difficult to justify other than on general sentiment. Anyone have a better understanding?

Subtitles don,t make much money, it is the dubbing where the money comes in.

Subtitled South Korean film winning best picture must be good for Zoo both in the short and long term. The streaming companies will no doubt be searching the world for similar content to be adapted and used.Zoo is clearly in a growth area.

Tick up on the SP, could the update be tomorrow!
Frustrating lack of news from the company, when will they realise that PI’s are important and should be kept informed as well as the institutions.

I have just spoken to the company and the rationale is as follows. They have several US funds invested and Finncap are only covered for the UK and Europe whereas Stifel cover the UK;Europe and the US. Oppenheimer and Caboota are US funds who both have significant holdings.

The careers page on the Zoo website has gone from 10 vacancies in November/December to 3 vacancies last week and back to 8 vacancies today. Naturally, normal staff turnover is likely to be a factor, but it is undeniable that there are wide variations in the vacancies numbers and that the company is operating in growth markets. What this will mean for the company revenues we will have to wait and see but I am of the opinion that the rewards outweigh the risks at these price levels.

On Zoo's website under 'financial reports' and then 'previous presentations' there is the presentation they gave to investors in NYC on 12 December. There's a page in there that states they expect to meet this year's market expectations.

I don't disagree with your points of concern btw. I'm definitely not saying I'm 100% certain that Zoo will deliver this time, but management stating they expect to meet expectations so recently gives quite some confidence. The ticker performance lagging is a shame but at the same time management did state that H2 performance would be driven by improved business in dubbing, so it's very well possible that subbing lags but dubbing will drive overall growth for the group (+ digital packaging).

I do agree that if Zoo fails to deliver again the market will run out of patience, but the significant fall in the share price of the last weeks, from ~90p to <65p (~30% decline) means the downside of disappointing results should be lower at this price-level.

In the first half of FY2020 our focus has been on securing primary vendor status with a major global media content provider. We are pleased with the progression of this relationship - our first major strategic customer for our cloud-based dubbing service - which we expect will bring better quality and visibility to our future revenues. Our work with this partner has enhanced our reputation in the market and is helping in our goal to become the leading next generation media localisation business.
The financial results for the first half of the year are in line with expectations. Revenue fell by 4% to $14.2 million (H1 FY19: $14.9 million) due to an anticipated decline in legacy services: despite DVD/Blu-ray sales falling by 75%, excluding these revenues we achieved a 7% growth. Digital packaging revenues for OTT platform launches tripled in the period. This delivered a substantial increase in our gross profit from 33% to 41% and a more than doubling of EBITDA before IFRS 16 adjustments to $1.2 million (H1 FY19: $0.5 million).

Interim results 04/11/19.

Didn't know they had stated they expect to meet expectations. Where is the RNS? Last update was in the interims in early November. Still 3 months to go and I haven't seen any evidence of the ticker increasing. Actually run rate is down. Not much recruiting going on. Last couple of years they have tended to miss so I have a feeling they will struggle again. Share price falling also. I suspect the market will run out of patience. I think things will get better perhaps much better but I want to reduce my risk and have some money to buy back in if the share price falls back again.

I think the recently appointed FD is a "conservative" guy and he will be confident in achieving their target and meet expectations. What I would like to see is more "preferred provider" announcements.

Any specific reason you expect disappointing financials for this year? Management recently (December, at the NYC conference) reiterated they expect to meet expectations for the current book-year, which implies a strong H2 (>35% sales growth YoY). Unless management is wrong that's a pretty good indication that financials will improve going forward
