Could be any sorts, Lanza. Partly dépends on what they want it for.
IMO it wouldn't go cheap as the directors have a large stake in it,
directly as shares & also thru' (postponed) loan conversion.

Anyway, MACD turning up & RSI still low but rising.

My initial reaction was disappointment, but having had a day to reflect on the announcement I see some positives in the statement.

The comments of 'processing significant volumes' and 'projects in progress tripled' are countered with 'at times constrained resources'.

Sounds to me as if they have the work and opportunity for profits, they just need someone to come in take them over to provide the manpower.

Any ideas on who would be interested in buying?

This makes sense:

"The major focus of this financial year has been on the development of ZOOsubs, the Group's proprietary Cloud-based subtitle production and management system and associated services. The Company is pleased that the progress reported in the Company's interim results has continued into the second half, and in addition to the three major studios reported at the interim stage, ZOOsubs has now been adopted by several Tier-2 studios and large corporations and there is a strong pipeline of future prospects.

ZOO is currently processing significant volumes of ZOOsubs work, demonstrated by the number of client projects in progress at any one time having tripled over the last two months, and expects the volume of work undertaken to grow further during the remainder of this financial year and throughout next year. Revenue from the ZOOsubs proposition is repeating in nature, which provides the Company with greater visibility over future revenue and resource requirements.

Whilst the Company is pleased with the momentum building in ZOOsubs, its revenue profile tends towards delivery as an ongoing service rather than as licence sales, and accordingly revenue for the year to 31 March 2014 is now expected to be below the Company's expectations and in the region of $9.5 million. In acknowledgement of customer enthusiasm and their requirements, the Company has also significantly increased its investment into ZOOsubs in order to meet the market opportunity and demand, including the development of a subtitling team with significant expertise in the sector. As a consequence of the above, the Company now expects to report a loss at the EBITDA* level of no more than $0.4 million, and a loss* before tax significantly greater than the previous year."

Seems down beat at first, but but IMO the right décisions are being implemented, ie.: they're investing in the long term picture, not short term gain.

The only caveat I can find is if a competitor created a better system,
but that would take some doing & is a high barrier to entry as the sector is very specialised & not big enough for any major to get involved.

It would be much easier to take over ZOO!

BTW - RSI is at near zero..... oversold?

I had a jarful of Zoo jam in 2010 & imo we'll get another soon.

Chart says it's VERY oversold - RSI is nearly ZERO!
IMO if they've "sacrificed" profit figures for re-investment,
the payoff could be the same five-bagger as in 2010.
Three Hollywood majors have endorsed ZOO, & they're not bozos.....

Yer pays yer murney & yer takes yer choice.
I'll stay in.

Wow is this outfit still going? I note once again more Jam tomorrow. How many lashings of Jam have the directors had over the years?

Chesty, again I think you are looking at what zoo used to do rather than what they are doing now. The zoosubs service is for translating of subtitles, nothing to do with InDesign files. Maybe worth looking at their website or www.zoosubs.com for more info, couldn't see anything about indesign .

Thanks for patronising me, not sure what point you are trying to make. Zoo are an AIM listed company and I've been invested here for years and every year the promise is of big things to come.

Who know's they have invested & if they do get the Jam tomorrow then rewards are big, that's the big lottery with ANY shares NOT just AIM.

Not aware of them chesty.

ZOO does most of its business in the US so perhaps not a competitor.

Rev's have actually increased in H2 from figures released this morning, it's the investment which has impacted profit. Hopefully this will stand ZOO in good stead for for full year 14/15.

hhhhhmmmm I was not sure about this one which is why I posted the other week...

I cannot even put my finger on why BUT just cannot see this one working out as others are already making there own, My co uses technology created by www.1io.com anyone know if ZOO competes with these ???... I know nothing about them apart from we use it..

No I am not promoting them just that we use em.

Be lucky to all & really hope ZOO can make it.

Mixed update this morning. Suspect short term hit, although medium/long term things still seem on track.

Reading between the lines operating expenses have risen by nearly $1m due to "significant investment in ZOOsubs" whilst this is good news with work load tripling i don't think ZOO will reap the rewards of this investment until interim's 2014.

CHESTY - Zoo weren't doing very well so they have re-invented themselves over the last year so historic stuff is not really relevant to their current suite of software.

Hi amt

I am not involved in the software we use just in the using of it.....We had a meeting around changes within the co & ZOO digital was mentioned by myself to the co & they said they had been down the road looking into ZOO but said it was too rigid as you needed your files created in Illustrator...( not sure how true this is/was but as the decision was already made I did not look into it any further )

Sorry that is all I know for now & have not looked into ZOO myself but my co did, saying that they have been very wrong in the past so who knows....

Be lucky to all & watching this one closely....

amt - 16 months back/ZOOcore.

Interestingly this would have been prior to ZOO's new offerings.

Trading update due any day so we should find out if upturn in fortunes is really taking hold.
