waldof: I am beginning to think that ZOL have been responsible for the rise over last few months. a large majority of good bids come in at approx 80% premium to existing share price. If they had done that at say 15p it would look outrageous and not good for Arkady. Some might say he would not be bothered by that - i disagree, i think he wants a good name mgoing forward. Now an 80% premium to today price would be 52p add that to current share price and you get a take out figure of c.£1.17p. Thats look more respectable, especialy over a three year share chart.

cyprusdave: So what’s the thinking here? Buyout of whole business by major player (Gasprom) for a fixed share price, so free float has no options?

paperclip3: I guess I'm not going to get any prizes if I suggest that the Annual Report will be out either tomorrow or Friday. The share price is steady here and may provide a base from which to build following a positive Annual Report (IMHO, of course)

paperclip3: So Noirua, the implication, I presume, is that positive news will have quite a strong effect on the share price (as the free float is small)?

paperclip3: After such a large rise, something of a pull back has to be expected. I hope it can slip to 30p so that I can top up. I suspect that in a year’s time the share price will be well above a pound. Happy days

paperclip3: I wouldn't mind the share price drifting a bit (to 30?); it would give me the opportunity to pick up a few more before an RNS (due very soon, surely).

bernieboy: One of the main issues with Zoltav's share price (apart from the obvious Russian connections) has been non existent PR. Investors don't know about the huge potential. High volumes and days on the leader boards all helps to do the job that the PR companies should have been doing......

noirua: Don't be fooled as gas and electricity prices, as well as oil have risen in price over the last 15 months. There just wont be gas and oil pipeline sanctions as Italy, France and Germany have high prices for electricity especially Germany and Italy. Russia is key to Germany's engineering industry and although there are undoubted political and security issues there are other countries particularly China who have an increasingly close partnership with Russia. Others here know more than I do about Zoltav. Sadly a few have vanished and probably hit bt the share price drop. Like the biggest and strongest elephant in the jungle Putin will not rule for ever.

bernieboy: Hi all, Reply from the PR company re current share price...... 'Thank you for your email regarding Zoltav. You are not alone in your dissatisfaction with the market’s current determination of the share price. While Zoltav is one of many small-cap listed oil and gas companies suffering greatly deflated valuations versus pre-oil-price-collapse valuations, Zoltav arguably faces stronger headwinds given the reduced investor appetite for small-cap Russia-focused E&P companies and the heavily depreciated Ruble. It is worth remembering that Zoltav’s major shareholders have invested very substantial sums of money at valuation levels of several years ago. The company is focused on bringing back value. With regards to trading news, you will be aware that the company announced disappointing news last month which will result in a reduction in gas production next year of up to 35% and it is likely this has further impacted the share price. All relevant information about Zoltav’s current operations is already in the public domain. Longer term, Zoltav believes there is potential to yield substantial additional reserves and production in the deeper Devonian structure at Bortovoy and management is focused on understanding the potential of this. While I understand this may not allay your concerns in the short term, it is possible that this strategy could result in adding significant value in the longer term. The impact of the declining production in the current year and further anticipated decline next year, while the operational review is underway, is undoubtedly disappointing. However, I hope you can take some comfort in the longer-term value improvement prospects which management are aiming to unlock.' Hope you find it useful. Cheers Bernie

bernieboy: Whilst the reply doesn't give too much away I found it quite comforting anyway. Here is my email and the replies: Hi, I am a long term investor in Zoltav Resources and would like some feedback from the company regarding the current share price and if anything is going to be done about it. Having invested at different times all the way down from 180 I am obviously dismayed at seeing the current mid price of 13.5p. How does the company view the current price? I assume that you believe that it is well under the level that it should be at for a great producing company with such great licenses and assets? Do you have some plans to see the share price increased? Why is there so little information imparted to the stock market, we get so few RNSs? Surely a trading update would help? Previously you mentioned the goal to become a leading mid tier Oil and Gas company and to list on the main market of LSE. Are there any plans for this in the near term. Is there anything amiss which would explain the current depressed share price that we should be worried about? Is there a funding requirement or a placing coming? Is the Nomad or broker intending to put out a new 'Research Note' with price target? Any views that could put my mind at rest would be greatly appreciated, whilst I understand of course that you are not at liberty to divulge any market sensitive information of course. Many thanks for your time...... And the reply: Dear...... Thank you for your email regarding Zoltav. Let me firstly say that I can certainly understand your frustration with the market's current determination of the value of the company's shares and indeed those of many other companies in the junior E&P sector at present. Neither the general sentiment towards oil and gas stocks, nor current western investor sentiment towards Russia-focused companies are helpful at present. While Zoltav itself cannot alter the stock market's determination of its share price, I can assure you the company is not satisfied with the market’s determination of its current value and is focusing on delivering operational excellence and on maximising the potential of its assets. We hope in due course - and as sectoral/economic factors improve - that this will indeed be reflected in the company's share price. I have noted your request for more regular operational/performance updates. I should like to point out that when Zoltav reports the results of its operations twice annually, it does so in extensive detail and I would urge you to read such annual and half-yearly reports (available on Zoltav’s website). The next of these will be published prior to the end of this month and I would encourage you to look out for that. I am unable to comment on certain of your specific questions, which would constitute price sensitive information; and investors are responsible for their own analysis of their investments. I do hope, however, that this helps to allay any concerns that the company is not focused on improving its valuation – it certainly is. Like most E&P companies – particularly Russia-focused ones – Zotlav faces headwinds with investor sentiment. However, the company is focused on maximising the potential of its assets to deliver value. Yours sincerely ............ For Zoltav Resources Hope you find it useful. If I had available funds I would probably be topping up again at this ridiculous price! Have a good weekend all, Bernie
