in close proximity to TNK-BP's giant Samotlor field -

6th largest oil filed in the world and largest in Russia -

A jv would transform the share price -

2 big shareholders here holding almost 80% total equity -

With the oil price now back up above $60, I shouldn't be surprised to see something happen with Zoltav's Koltogor oil licences in Western Siberia. A joint venture with one of the bigger Russian oil companies would be my guess, with Zoltav getting a free carry.

From observing what has happened since the new market maker came on board, I conclude the following. The powers that be decided that it was time to stop the rot of the falling share price and at the same time improve liquidity. That seems to have happened (including a tighter bid-offer spread). I can only assume it is preparation for the next move. My opinion, of course.
