There are only a few global players in the high grade space Champion iron and Fxpo whose production has been severally disrupted due the war and recently political and legal scandal regarding its major shareholder

That's also makes complete sense. And I tend...to agree I suppose Im forgetting the 'future is green steel' which already does and will no doubt command an greater 'premium' going forward and so Zioc may well receive a buyout from a combination of a global iron ore player backed by a sovereign wealth fundA mittel took out a high grade fe content company (pellet feed) in baffinland some 10 odd years ago I can't remember what they paid or the production run rate

GLEN has an historic aversion to 'greenfield' sites, one of the reasons (apart from economic circs) that ZIOC never progressed.

The Nov 22 restructuring broke the impasse, enabling GLEN to support a deal that wouldn't require it to make any longterm funding commitment, whilst still allowing it to earn from the offtake/marketing of any eventual production.

So, IF there's a deal, the expectation is that we'll be bought out...and won't share in the post-completion upside; but we won't share in the multiyear risks or financing (which we can't afford anyway).

Have a look at the last 2 weeks' worth of posts on lse and the potential share prices being mentioned by the longtimers there, for a more likely share price range and timeframe.

My view: as it was statedI don't see a buyout but a global sovereign fund part funding the project with an economic interest in the project in conjunction with Glencore who of course will enjoy decades of off take, part debt part equity. If there were to be a buyout it will be sub 500m SterlingMcap - I think as I said earlier today if funding talks are in play and this becomes an open secret in the media outlets and/or Zioc are forced to announce the mcap has to reflect the significant spend to date in bringing this project to where it is now. Xstrata spent 350m US this is known and all permits and a mining licence is in place - this can take years and years to secure so mcap 55p to 75p

No.

If you read the Nov23 2022 RNS that will explain the relationship GLEN now has with ZIOC.

If you read back the last couple of weeks posts here and lse, you'll be fully up to speed as to what (we think) is going on...

SIE,
In a nutshell, no, no and yes., and you may be too late to board the train, as the Annual Results and "maybe" an additional update are due to be released no later than the end of this week. We may also get news of a total buy out or some other arrangement either this week, or very soon after. If you are seriously considering jumping on board and learn what has been discovered by researching the internet, it would be best if you go over to the LSE forum, take the option of 100 posts per page, and then go back at least 10 pages. Study what the likes of Minorminer, Aberdeenman, Alwayshoping, Extrader amongst others have chosen to share on there. You will then learn just why the share price has taken off during the last few weeks and also why the share price has an awfully long way to climb still.
NAI, DYOR etc, and good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Is this just a case of waiting for GLEN to put in an offer and if so is it likely to be soon?Is it always possible a hostile takeover could occur if GLEN bought enough shares on the open market?
Or are we a long way off any of these scenarios?

Useful map that puts the mines and ports in context.
Includes the decrepit railway, but not the route of the currently preferred slurry pipeline option.

Hopefully, not 'our' / ZIOC's problem (IF we're taken out) and it'll be the new owners' headache (and expense)

It IPO'd a small %age of shares @ £1.56 in Nov 2010, the price peaked at 206p in Jan 2011, just as the iron price went into multi year reverse and the project was effectively mothballed.

Throughout most of that period, there was minimal dilution, around 300m shares in issue (for ZIOC's 50% less 1 share of the Zanaga mine), this doubled to the present approx 600m when ZIOC acquired GLEN's share last Nov and 'new ZIOC' {owning 100% of the Project] came into being.

All this approximate, per stocko.

For those looking in for the first time and then think that they have missed the boat again, just remember that a really really miserly bid of just One Billion US Dollars equates to a price of £1-33 per share. And those today can still be bought for sub 20p, and still a really nice multi bagger.

NAI DYOR etc etc GLALTH, our time is coming....and very very soon.

All things being equal, and given what's happening in the background, ie we are finally pushing this to some sort of deal (whatever form that takes) which will lead to a funding structure the mcap should in time (soon) reflect at least the DFS value and the fact that ALL mining and environmental permits (unless I'm mistaken) are in place In my view this should take the sP to around 55p-65p (probably a lot higher) given the cost and time to get 2 critical elements in place in today terms (add to that cost inflation in the past 2 years)
