Hi Pugugly,

This Trahar is Andrew's dad, former big cheese at Anglo Gold. The clue is in the d.o.b.

Lots of people got (briefly) excited at his involvement in BS, which owns the technology for the cold palletisation process, which never made sense, because if the technology worked, BS would license it to any iron ore producer, so it's not conferring any benefit on Zanaga, esp. as we have no production for the foreseeable.

In any case, it's not clear that it works on a commercial scale yet and - if you followed the recent IP - Trahar junior acknowledged that ZIOC wasn't pursuing.

May already have been mentioned but discovered that Trahar is also a director of binding solutions ltd.

So Gta is still peddling that he is the "road expert". Laughable.

Hi GTA5,

Thanks for this, largely concur with your view (the $1M Q for road repair was mine...).

Also agree that EPP is likely a 'useful time-filler' whilst they wait for the Fat Lady to finish gargling.

Thirdly, if you start with a realistic enough assessment of timelines, any surprises are likely to be to the upside !

FWLIW, whilst I've no intention at present of increasing my own 'mad money' punt, I've taken the new tax year as an excuse to treble my grand-daughter's (even more modest) holding...which probably gives a steer as to the appropriate investment timescale !

Hi Gimmethefax,

ZIOC IPO'd just before iron ore prices crashed. They've made a recovery recently, but memories linger. The resource is fabulous, but is a stranded asset, 350 KM from the sea, without power for the mine, transport of product to the coast or a port to export from.

It's in Congo-Brazzaville, which ranks very low on 'ease of doing business' and very high on Transparency International's corruption index.

C-B has a very high external debt-to-GDP ratio and has been in lengthy discussions with the IMF about debt restructuring/rescheduling/ forgiveness.

The IMF has so far been reluctant to play ball, because a fair %age of C0-B's debt is owed to the Chinese, who have hitherto been reluctant to join in the likely burden-sharing.

On the bright side - and the reason some people are invested - a number of these negatives MAY be being addressed, helped along by a resurgence in iron ore price, itself driven by Chinese concerns re air quality (encouraging use of higher quality ore - like ZIOC's) and most recently the tailings disasters in Brazil, which have squeezed supply.

There are a lot of moving parts that all have to get in synch, but the high risk MAY be matched by high or higher potential reward. Only you can judge whether it meets your own risk/reward approach.

If you start by reading the recent Investor Presentation and read between the lines, that'll give you a good start. You could then , of course, always contact the Company.

I don't disagree. The share price may recover massively on a good RNS.

I am more interested in the actual future of this company (regardless of what the share price is). I cant see what's taking so long? And what are these guys actually doing on a day by day/ yearly basis?

Thanks. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I don't personally hold, just looking.

So am I correct in thinking these guys have reported nothing substantial or new in many years? Other than cash reserves decreasing (albeit reasonably slowly).
