Yep all the action at wood group with mugs trying to catch a falling knife all day. DfE situations like that never end well for Investors Debt upto its eyeballs Polar opposite here, lol |
Just checked the UK gas price for 2024.The H2 monthly average price was some 34% higher than H1, but YU's income growth for H2 v H1 was the complete opposite, it was 33% less than H1. Something seriously impacted the H2 revenue. Hence the miss on forecasts and the market reaction IMO.The average UK gas price for 2024 was actually 14% lower than FY24 (it was 17% by Nov). So energy supplied up 78%, wholesale price down 14% but Rev was only up 40%, clearly lower margin / income contracts feeding through during FY24, and / or Shell taking some margin. Either way the hit IMO was during H2.Be interesting to see how Q1 FY25 has gone. |
Loving the volume. Lol |
Sparky palGas spot as you like to report daily on it, is now down nearly 18% since its peak three days ago. What do you think will happen to gas price when the war in Ukraine is over?, more to the point what will the impact be for YU?. I'm hoping the March finals push this upwards first!.The war was / is going to end at some point in time, that's a fact. |
If Tango man sorts Ukraine peace deal then energy prices are likely to tumble. Was going to happen at some point IMVHO :)Https://www.qcintel.com/article/natural-gas-ttf-tumbles-over-7-as-ukraine-peace-deal-eyed-36123.html |
Leeds next door rambling on, reckons folks bought for the results, really!, so why is it still falling?. Just the usual perna bull ramping. |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) I don't understand some posters concerns here when it is quite obvious that quite a lot were in just for the good results statement. If you are happy with your investment and the company overall, then see it for what it is - A buying opportunity and chance to add more if you can. As we all know nothing ever just goes up in a straight line, watching movements hourly, daily, even weekly, will do your nut and you lose all track of your investment case. In hindsight I might wish i sold at the top and re-entered now, but I didn't because i see a good future here, so the next best thing is to add on the dips if i believe in the company which i do, it's not a huge amount, I've bought another £1.5k to add to what i already hold, I bought on the last dips to £15ish, I have my own personal target which is higher than recent highs, if i'd realised or known that so many were in for just the results then maybe i might've joined in the selling, but the results were excellent so i stayed in.
The punters won the day and moved on, it does not affect how good this company is. I now have an alert set for £19 just in case anything pushes it there and i need to check in, other than that your hourly battles on a BB must do your head in and you'll lose all track of why you're invested here. |
Teneo = IR. Usually been pretty good answering queries in the past. I asked them if they would RNS any milestone news. Worth a try. |
Ftse 100 setting new highs everything else treading water |
For those on here who think our Chancellor is hopeless, it looks like we won't need to worry about her for much longer! (Though I fear what comes after!!) |
Who is Teneo Dave please? I should know really! lol |
Agreed and contacted Teneo earlier in the week - no response, lol. |
Best pal Sparky: "it's not as though they have the begging bowl out every year it's the polar opposite and position of strength."Agree, not every year the begging bowl. But tell me, how do you think the market felt when they did issue a £12m placing just months before their accounting disaster? - would you as a PI feel a tad cheated into investing in a business on very very inaccurate financials and forecasts then see your investment crash. Mud sticks unfortunately and takes a long time for Mr Market to wipe that mud away. |
Totally agree Hamid. I am hoping for another fall into the 1400's to add again before results It just feels so safe |
Who is this persistent seller I wonder? |
PalIf they do announce a decent BB in their finals combined with a positive earnings beat forecast for FY25 then clearly this would provide some decent momentum.....the last TU clearly disappointed the market, as growth is clearly slowing up.Your comment about a main market listing, are you talking FTSE250?, well they can't just walk into that indices, their mc isnt high enough. As far as I know there's no immediate requirement for fund investing for the FTSE Smakl Cap index. Thus what's the incentive?, nothing, just additional cost and additional scrutiny. |
hamidahDon't think you've researched this company too much IMO.The CEO promised to do more in terms of comms with the market etc, he even apologised for their failings in this department - that was nearly two years ago.The BoD are running the business to fill their pockets - CEO doubled his remuneration last year to £1m, the CFO and MD Retail sold over half their share holdings last year despite their own broker giving a target price in excess of what they sold them for.As for your comment about growth, it's slowing and their H2 FY24 income fell off a cliff. |
100% agree and YU BOD need to learn and engage |
Down day again |
