White knight was a flippant comment - strategic investor.

What white night is that then.Do you mean the strategic investor that's also in this sector?
Posted at 27/4/2023 07:58 by birdie12
They don't need any cash in the near term otherwise they would be tapping into the strategic investor..But they are not at this point.

Investors (pi’s anyway) always overestimate t/o prices. Massive multiples never materialise and holders usually fold for very modest multiples.

So very confusing to potential investors.

Let's HOPE it is because they want to avoid any legal issues. This way, ample time has passed and retail investors have the opportunity to top up at below placing price!

YGEN and SVP@yourgene owe, rather than have trapped deposits. However, if they need the outstanding 0.9M then they'll need supportAt the beginning of 2022, AIM-quoted diagnostics firm Yourgene Healthcare entered into a three-year, £5m loan facility with Silicon Valley Bank. There was £4.1m drawn down by September 2022 when net debt was £1.7m.A placing and retail offer raised £6.8m at 0.3p a share, after expenses. This was required for working capital and product development. That should provide the required cash for the business until at least the third quarter of 2023. Singer forecasts net debt of £2.2m by the end of March 2024. The Taiwan subsidiary is being sold, and a strategic investor is being sought.

I certainly believe they can.it's been over 8 years of delays, litigation mess and over promise with shareholder destruction, to arrive currently at 0.38p!The question is can long term investors manage to at least come within touching distance of break even, which for many will be the best feasible result, IF the BOD now turn a history of failure into a unique form of success - returning most of the capital invested for long term shareholders.

Melton John hasnt commented since the announcement be good to see his perspective on developments?

I have consigned YGEN to my write offs bin really annoying that BOD has led PI's into this pathetic scenario with recent updates and presentations on Investor Meets. I see little point throwing good money after bad in the subscription. The business is burning through cash and the fund raise may still not be enough. The BOD should have secured the future of the business long ago in better times. To thank investors for support now highlights abject failure of the directors and a total lack of financial diligence. Whilst YGEN represents a tiny % of my overall portfolio and losses will be made up in time I remain extremely angry that we have been misled on actual financial trading status.

Thanks birdie12 I'm trying my best to lift the tone of this thread to one of positivity for the future. A future which I, and I'm not alone, see as bright. Being a wet blanket and posting past criticisms repeatedly will not help the cause of selling this company to other investors. I'm not 100% up to speed with MHC, like others I had things happening that took my eye off the ball but if Rees could have done better is all water under the bridge, lets move on eh. I read recently that investors sell shares for a vast variety of reasons, they buy for only one reason and thats because they think the price will go up. Everyone seems to say YGEN is undervalued so lets drop the looking through the rear view mirror and look forward.
