They are replacing the articles of association and both classes of shares. Without knowing all the details, it looks as though the board doesn't know what to do about the two share classes. Sooner or later the anomaly will have to be faced. Would there have been anything wrong or against company law to have issued more shares to the "A" class, taking as a measure the average discount at which ordy were priced to "A"s over (say) a three year period? The company could then have had one class of new ordinary shares with equal rights. |
I for one am topping up, going for both shares, take what I can get. full of cash and prime locations, lovely. |
Share split. |

No mention of a special divi', although interim divi up a nice 33%, but does say "In line with the Board's stated policy, investment opportunities will be measured against the benefits of returning capital to shareholders." |
So, anyone care to back the £40+ evaluation with some cold, hard figures?
Or is the banter here typical, meaningless ADVFN "commentary"?
I'm quite interested in investing in another brewery, particularly after H&H, but sadly Sharelockholmes puts this company on a P/E (historic) of over 35.
Doesn't sound particularly like good value sadly :-(.
Any other brewers offering more appealing fundamentals?
Thanks, David |
Just sitting some cash some where quiet and safe.... well I reckon it is? lots of lovely cash coming in at atrt of year so something to look forward to, lets hope they use it wisely.! |
The interims should be out sometime next week. I hope the results will stop the gradual slide in the share price and a quick return back into the £30's.(please!) |
? Friday was the turn. |
Hopefully the summer lull will end next week when the "big boy traders" are back at their desks after their break, and some sensible valuations return. |
? thought we looked a little over sold with all that cash coming in around Christmas? |
Non voters now 1p more to buy than the voting shares, unusual. |
Patience in these markets IS a virtue!! Warren Buffet buys , then holds, apparently for the very, very long term. |
Bit of a melt down, my top up purchase at the top ain't looking so good now, however suppose just sit tight and ride it out! |
No, just came across it as it was released. |
Ah! Seen the AGM statement. Were you at the meeting, elmfield? |
Would you expand on that, please? |
Excellent a.g.m |
Greene king on the up today as well, so much value here to vbe unlocked, having a few more yngn today. |
Fair value: £40+ |
Youngs team reading this, yes I suspect, and I reckon we are undervalued, imhv. |
MAB shareholders looking to do the same. IMO I think Young's management will watch and wait to see what happens to others in the sector, and see if it is right for us. There may be an announcement of cash to shareholders or share buybacks at the next results in Nov. when the rest of the Ram brewery monies owed (payable Jan 2008), are paid to Young's. REIT's out of favour (short term) at the moment, but can see that turning when interest rates decline. (Rate rise expected this week). |
Greene king stonking away today after results, reckon their nav is about £900m and mark cap 1500m, will YNGA/N follow their lead with releasing value? If so lets get some more? ANY VIEWS lundhousegreen? |
Yes, just a matter of time before the sweetie bag is opened, though I hope not for a while. |
Looking shrewd to have picked up sub £30 last week. |
