KAP trading update out. Will need some time to digest it, but it seems they are having problems securing sulphuric acid which is putting 2024 production targets at risk.

RNS, 31 October:

"Yellow Cake's estimated proforma net asset value on 30 October 2023 was £6.21 per share or US$1,637.8 million, assuming 21.68 million lb of U3O8 valued at a spot price of US$74.00/lb and cash and other current assets and liabilities."

New pres out.

I wasn't far out in my NAV calc. They have 576p as of yesterday. They bought a bit more Uranium, taking up the full $100m option and the fund raise cost a bit less than I thought.

Updated now (but with current spot GBP:USD rate), and tonight's slight uptick in spot price gives NAV of 584p tonight.

I don't think YCA have published an official pro-forma NAV calculation since the recent fund raising. So, I have had a go at my own.

Extra 1.5m lbs of U3O8. Which takes $98.5m off the $125m funds raised. I also assumed that the fund raising cost $5m, giving cash of the prior holding of $15m + $125m -$98.5m - $5m = $36.5m And extra 18.7m shares in issue now giving a total of 215.85m.

So, at $69.38/lb mid-price I make the NAV 585p and the share price at 511p is at a 12.6% discount to NAV. It may well slip a little more to fil that gap on the chart, but should then start to close the gap, especially if Uranium starts to move up again.

Sold out of this last week for 41% return and taken profits as it was starting to fall. Will watch for an attractive reentry position as very bullish on fundamentals for Uranium.

Thanks, Tex, you don't think the chart says you need to fill the gap between 494.65 and 503.39 before blasting higher, then?

Yellow Cake announced on 27 September that it was having a capital raise worth $125.0m through the issue of 18.7m shares at 550.0p per share – a move that Berenberg said was "taking advantage of an attractive market".

"The proceeds will be used to acquire circa 1.5m pounds of physical uranium (U3O8) from Kazatomprom as part of its $100.0m annual option to acquire physical uranium at the circa 12% in-the-money price of $65.50 per pound," Berenberg explained.

The funds will also be put towards working capital and general corporate costs, and to "potentially fund opportunistic additional purchases of uranium", according to the company.

"This allows Yellow Cake to further capitalise on tight spot volumes, which can keep prices elevated," said Berenberg, which raised its target price on the stock from 550.0p to 658.0p.

SPUT has bought only 259K lbs since April. It is not currently a significant influence on the spot price.

Both big producers, Kazatomprom and Cameco, probably plus Orano need to be buying in the spot market to cover their contractual delivery commitments.

While this revival is driven by several factors, including dwindling supply and the ever-rising global demand for clean energy sources, Sprott Physical Uranium Trust's buying spree could be fueling the short squeeze taking place in the uranium market.

The world's largest and only publicly-listed physical uranium fund has more than doubled its uranium supply in the last two years to nearly 62 million pounds and is showing no signs of slowing according to recent sentiments from the company's CEO.
