I have started a new YouTube series called share bingo and one of the first companies I look at was XP Power. Watch how XP Power stacked up against what I want to see before I would invest https://youtu.be/irE6aAx1_L0Please note all opinions are my own and they are just my view. If you think I have have missed anything please let me know in the comments of the video.

I bought in 2015 and will stick with it. The price may have "got ahead of itself" but I don't think I am good enough to time moves in and out. It remains a great business - we're only going to be using more electric devices. I wonder if it is or will be in "play". DP retired but he only had 1% or so. James Peters the founder has 7% and I wonder if he would be more inclined to sell with DP going. Their shares are worth c. £75m and £10m respectively. There are also lots of highly rated US industrial businesses sitting on cash with negative returns.

I bought years ago at 10-11£/sh and sold at 34-36/sh end 2017.
Then, beginning 2019 and half 2019 I bought back heavily at 20-22£/sh.
When I heard Duncan Penny left this year, I sold everything at 40-45£/sh.

It's a great company and I would have loved to keep it, but I simply think the shares are to expensive, in view of the risks, e.g. that the man who built it all is leaving.

I had to check my records and I bought between £17 and £36 - so I'm happy to share your smugness. But I feel sure that even those buying at £49 will feel smug before long. This is a share that keeps on giving.

Well I got in at the last pull back in the 40's , but can see it going to £64.00.

So you can feel smug and relaxed

Yep - unless you bought at £49 you have to be happy at £50.
Having bought at approx £25 with a Beddard tip I am very happy.
Apologies for being smug!

I too thought the results looked good - but surely that's the reason why the share price has stayed up after results instead of dipping

Any reason for the stagnant share price after the results. I thought they looked good

Is this a 2021 tip?
Would anyone be sniffing around for an acquisition?

I guess that's not happened before!(a CEO leaving a great company).

His successor has been with the company for a few years and I'm not expecting any need for anything radically different in terms of strategy.

And the CEO is leaving...

Featured in Investor's Champion update: Having initially joined the Group as CFO in 2000, Duncan became CEO in 2003, subsequently presiding over a 5800% growth in share price which saw XP gain entry to the FTSE 250 index earlier in the year.

Duncan Penny retiring after 17 years as CEO will be a tough act to follow, but reassuring the CFO is stepping up. Good update with 14% increase in revenue on a YTD basis.

Just sold out of these - they've done incredibly well for me, but PER of nearly 29x even with a forecast 11-12% growth for next couple of years is too rich for me.

just trimmed my holding this is now a 10x for me although held for many years.
this might just be one of those stocks that keeps on compounding and always looks
expensive.
one rare occasion when buy and hold has worked.
