Not really sure.

XLD\Petra are the only Diamond Company in my Portfolio.
That is nice for divisifaction, I supose.

But Petra are a to large a company, that stand out for my other stocks.
That are all much smaller and that was what I was aiming for.
Not that Petra dosn`t have great prospects, even more with XLDs assets to add.

So maybe sell some Petra and keep the rest.

if you fancy buying into the new XLD investment company the offer is @ 1.65p

with 100% plowback its worth a small wager

Relax guys. Petra Shares will be issued by XLD as a special dividend on 30 March. Tax implications may be dodgy as this will be treated as a distribution for UK tax purposes, therefore ?25% effective income tax on amount of distribution.

would any of you number crunchers know how to reflect this on my advfn portfolio these are making a mess of my blue screen lol which yesterday xld was a BIG part of .

Today the shares will go ex dividend. The share price should fall to about 2-3p imho. You will then in due course recieve the Petra shares on a ratio of 0.3685 Petra shares for each xceldiam share held at the close of business yesterday. There are a number of conditions which need to be satisfied before the Petra shares will be issued. They do seem quite straight forward and they have stated that they expect all conditions to have been met by the end of March. Hopefully that will clarify matters.

so what happens if you bought xld after 9th march ?
does this mean you do not get any petra shares.surely not otherwise the price would not be up in the 50 pences still.
just wondered as i can not get my head around this .

Has anyone received the EGM details letter from Xceldiam ? Unfortunately my shares are held via Cornhill and they claim they haven't received it but would send it on when they do - as the EGM is on the 19th I can't believe it hasn't been sent.

And who in there right mind would sell these as they are still 10% under the offer price with a divi to boot.

Just realised that of course there is a fixed no of XLD shares (Doh!) so there won't be any diluting effect. Looks like money for nothing ?

I suspect that these big sells today are infact buys...

Any other views ?

As I understand it there is however a finite no. of shares to be distributed as per the notice ...

' that the interim dividend in specie of the 19,674,584 Petra shares be
approved and declared payable to Xceldiam shareholders on record as at 9 March
2007 in proportion to the number of shares held by such Xceldiam shareholders.'
