No surprises in the Interim Management Statement. The slight recent softening in the Chinese tile market would have been expected. On track to meet targets.

City analysts get paid to come up with an "opinion" whilst they are never allowed to eat their own cooking. I am not playing down what they say - I am just saying there is no substitute for homework.

Question is: you really put the fate of your hard earned money on a broker report??

Investec's recent revision of their price target to 595p should comfort.

So far XAR seem to be a tight ship! If the trading update is a good one nobody has appeared to got wind of it yet and the same applies if it happens to be negative. If there is not much movement tomorrow it will show that this is one of those rare companies where news does not leak out prior to RNS announcements!

Will the 4th November trading update give XAR a kick over 600p? Might work its way up towards that area before the update and then pass it if favourable.

Red on the month, week and day. No signal for a long entry until the above scenario changes.

Any views about how far these might fall? Calling clever chartists! Getting close to the £5 mark which makes them interesting to me.

What do you expect?!Analysts are salary takers who simply follow the crowd. Good at describing what happened as opposed to anticipating change. Never ever rely on anyone when your money is at stake. No substitution for homework I guess.

Introducing a November trading update going forward sounds good as it reduces information time gaps

I am surprised there is not some heavy profit taking as this market is heading much further downwards.

tongosti, my calculations are partly gut reactions which over the years have been as good as any broken comment! But also I try and work out the price range and try to buy at a lower level rather than at the top of the channel. That's all.

Qvg, I was thinking that but then added to phtm. I'll look at the drivers for xaar. I just think phtm is lower valued so think it'll play catch up.
