18/3/2023 21:28 | UBS takeover of Credit Suisse could maybe bring some calm to the banking sector and markets in general ? Think as did the ECB the FED may raise rates anyhow .. by 0.25 | mister md
18/3/2023 17:27 | I've no idea what net week will hold, but it doesn't feel good at all. A hedge seems wholly appropriate. | waterloo01
17/3/2023 17:04 | All very predictable. Holding into next week. | waterloo01
17/3/2023 13:43 | Very, sitting out here until next week... added some sub 35 this morning. | albert arthur
17/3/2023 12:42 | Skiddish markets atm ! | mister md
16/3/2023 18:07 | I'm hoping for the opposite, as in S&P close lower and S&P futures do too with VIX up... not too exposed here, pretty much cash at the moment so playing here. Had a trade here yesterday then FOMO'd my way back in this morning. I could have traded 40 and sold at 46, but thought the 50bps ESB would do more. Still tomorrow and next week... Sentiment at the moment is with support from government and larger banks. However it's a traders market at the moment and expect traders to cut profits towards close... could be totally wrong.. as per today. | albert arthur
16/3/2023 17:59 | That's a good point. Also the tracking/correlation with VIX moves is dubious. But despite this, when markets go into panic mode it's a handy tool to make money but you need to get out again quick as it falls back way faster than the Vix drops. | mister md
16/3/2023 16:35 | In the current situation a vix below 25 seems cheap | waterloo01
16/3/2023 16:33 | Not sure about that, especially with Fed next week... let's see. | albert arthur
16/3/2023 16:30 | Fun is over here | bigbigdave
16/3/2023 16:28 | Added a little tranche here, tough to use EMAs here, but the VILX 50EMA was 38.42. Expecting a pullback on the S&P. Bit of a dice role... but sticking to my initial plan. | albert arthur
16/3/2023 15:44 | Yeah, I was expecting with EBS 50bps and Fed next week, this would spook US and bring down the S&P and futures... Maybe after further analysis or another stumble in the market that might still happen... looks like the relief interventions has pulled them up rather than down for now... | albert arthur
16/3/2023 15:34 | Typical. Relief rally based on central bank interventions followed by the reality of reducing corp profits and still rising inflation. | waterloo01
16/3/2023 15:14 | It's a very tricky product and can move fast both ways, but particularly down. It's where S&P closes that's key. Will it hold ? | waterloo01
16/3/2023 15:02 | Well that blew up fast. | albert arthur
16/3/2023 14:11 | With ECB at 50 today, Fed next week, and other issues, would expect another run here within the next two weeks. Added some at near 40 this morning. | albert arthur
16/3/2023 14:10 | Legarde can't bring herself to call it a banking crisis. "financial event". Uncertainty going forward | waterloo01
15/3/2023 16:16 | waterloo01 your Vix 30+and VILX 50p+ seems to be fast approaching ;-) | mister md
15/3/2023 11:29 | Sensible I'm sure. | waterloo01
15/3/2023 11:26 | Yes you're probably right, but I bet large amounts at a time on this so wary of the risk | mister md
15/3/2023 11:22 | Well done but way too early IMO. | waterloo01
15/3/2023 11:19 | Banked a very decent profit but will try to get back in once/if it cools off a little Still holding DAX short though | mister md |
