02/2/2023 09:23 | I've doubled down, but it's feeling like gambling VIx at new 52 week lows though | ![]() mister md

02/2/2023 08:05 | i blame you waterloo :) you jinxed it for me complimenting me on my "impeccable" timing, haha! I am joking of course, but I really didn't see it coming from Powell last night, have a sneaking suspicion that his curtailed hawkishness might have some sort of political element in it but not sure what that could be. | cevahirs
01/2/2023 19:48 | I think he is saving the white flag | ![]() nerja

01/2/2023 15:30 | Fed expected to increase by 0.25 I suppose it is what they say which will carry more weight. | ![]() mister md

30/1/2023 09:40 | VIX finally on the move, currently at 20 ... | ![]() mister md
28/1/2023 18:39 | The Cboe Volatility Index (VIX - 0.68 to 18.05) has been in a downtrend so far this year and should it close at its current level of 18.05, would represent a fresh 52-week low. Additionally, the VIX futures term structure has flattened quite a bit over the past two months, ranging (incrementally higher) from 19-23 when you look out to the September expiration. This suggests option traders on the SPX/VIX have become more comfortable in the current environment and do not expect significant volatility in the near-term. Are traders too complacent? Tough to say for sure, but we've seen the VIX reverse course when it gets this low in the past. For reference, a VIX around 18 suggests a ~0.94% daily move (either higher or lower) in the SPX which translates into ~38 points. | ![]() mister md
28/1/2023 18:38 | My natural caution but one can't hep but feel things are going to get a lot tougher, esp in Europe as Putin mounts the inevitable counter offensive. Mid-east doesn't inspire much confidence. Meanwhile the soft landing narrative prevails | ![]() waterloo01
27/1/2023 16:26 | VIX 12 month low 18 VIX 12 month high 36 Now at 18, the 12 month low. No fear in the market currently it seems. | ![]() mister md

27/1/2023 14:02 | Added a few at 30.5p - VIX seems low at just under 19 ? | ![]() mister md
26/1/2023 16:48 | Likewise my 33p entry looked good at one point yesterday afternoon - may hold for a little longer whilst Vix is under 20. 3ULS is a better, less risky hedge though. | ![]() mister md
26/1/2023 16:34 | Still dabble but much more circumspect these days. I bought a few at 34p yesterday and a reminder not to rely on this as an effective hedge. | ![]() waterloo01
26/1/2023 16:27 | Anyone else getting involved at these levels - where did waterloo01 go ? | ![]() mister md
26/1/2023 08:27 | VIX ar 19 ... | ![]() mister md
25/1/2023 15:37 | I never learn, probably needs to double now for me to get some money back.I think I signed in with my Google account automatically? It's free to register... | zcaprd7 |
