Good point. Certainly been Fed activity in the markets in the past few days including yesterday, usually occurs when the index is approaching 11K. The best approach at the moment is to sell any stocks into strength as it seems only new money and Fed money supporting the rises.

I think the Dow retracement was less so they could tell the retail punters that it didnt in fact go down in May, they managed to push it up last night so it ended the month one point up.

No tub, I initially had shorts from the 11575 area, but closed them before the last rally. I'm now short from around 11150.

Problem is the Dow retracement has been much less than other indices so it's only a matter of time it hits the 200ma. Not easy to predict the time frame though as it attempts to rally on any weakness.

Cheers HP, are you still short btw? I am with stops at 11,200. Spec97 was spot on with regards to the dow changing direction the day after the fed minutes, which I hadn't noticed before he pointed it out & was probably a deciding factor in keeping my short running, because it started to get a bit ugly in the last 1/2 hr yesterday & I had my doubts. However, fears concerning inflation & an increased likelyhood of a further rate increase at the June meeting can't be good news for the market imo.

There is now much more resistance to the upside IMO. 11240 and 11280 will be key areas to break if it can break above 11185.

On the downside if 11080 is broken, 11025 should be tested.

2. then at 20.12 it could fly

3. then at 20.13 it will fail

4. then mysteriously at 21.10 you have another long closed and it time for a short or two

Harvey, the last set of figures I gave you were completely accurate and there was, as expected, a sharp move into expiry. You will note that I pointedly did not say whether this would be up or down.
