01/6/2006 14:01 | Good point. Certainly been Fed activity in the markets in the past few days including yesterday, usually occurs when the index is approaching 11K. The best approach at the moment is to sell any stocks into strength as it seems only new money and Fed money supporting the rises. | easytimes
01/6/2006 13:58 | I think the Dow retracement was less so they could tell the retail punters that it didnt in fact go down in May, they managed to push it up last night so it ended the month one point up. | ![]() miata
01/6/2006 13:24 | Thanks tubsy. There'll be plenty more opportunities on the way down, & then on the way back up again. ;-) | ![]() kozel
01/6/2006 12:24 | K, I thought your original shorts and calls were excellent and although I agreed with you, I closed far too soon, which ended up costing me. | tub of lard
01/6/2006 12:12 | No tub, I initially had shorts from the 11575 area, but closed them before the last rally. I'm now short from around 11150. | ![]() kozel
01/6/2006 12:04 | Problem is the Dow retracement has been much less than other indices so it's only a matter of time it hits the 200ma. Not easy to predict the time frame though as it attempts to rally on any weakness. | easytimes
01/6/2006 11:54 | are your shorts from 11600 area. | tub of lard
01/6/2006 11:40 | Cheers HP, are you still short btw? I am with stops at 11,200. Spec97 was spot on with regards to the dow changing direction the day after the fed minutes, which I hadn't noticed before he pointed it out & was probably a deciding factor in keeping my short running, because it started to get a bit ugly in the last 1/2 hr yesterday & I had my doubts. However, fears concerning inflation & an increased likelyhood of a further rate increase at the June meeting can't be good news for the market imo. | ![]() kozel
01/6/2006 11:10 | There is now much more resistance to the upside IMO. 11240 and 11280 will be key areas to break if it can break above 11185. On the downside if 11080 is broken, 11025 should be tested. | harry_potter
01/6/2006 11:06 | A break above 11185-90 or below 11080-75 are the ones to watch short term. | harry_potter
01/6/2006 10:11 | And who else is king of Cut & Paste other than dear ca !! | tub of lard
01/6/2006 10:10 | Has anyone noticed just how assute timeshare spiv is? He finally realised that the market goes up and down, and down and up..... .......strange how he sounds just like frankie crowsoft (ca), must be just a coincidence !!!! there cant be more than one TOP TRADER can there ? | tub of lard
01/6/2006 10:01 | morning mad, hows goes it this morning? | tub of lard
01/6/2006 09:03 | My guess is it'll have a go at 11K today but they probably won't let it go though | easytimes
01/6/2006 08:48 | harvey did you see deal or no deal last night...i really thought she wood gamble at the end | joe moon
01/6/2006 08:08 | Roger the Bodger says its going up, no I mean down, no up then maybe down or is it the other way round. Catch you later roger. Until this evening... | timeshare spiv
01/6/2006 08:04 | 1. So you closed not *the* long but -longs- at 19.55 and get bored with the short talk, 2. then at 20.12 it could fly 3. then at 20.13 it will fail 4. then mysteriously at 21.10 you have another long closed and it time for a short or two Who are you kidding? not anyone reading that guff. Trades appearing from nowhere again. | timeshare spiv
01/6/2006 07:26 | Harvey, the last set of figures I gave you were completely accurate and there was, as expected, a sharp move into expiry. You will note that I pointedly did not say whether this would be up or down. | ![]() miata
