01/6/2006 00:15 | The markets aren't impressed by the minutes released today, the initial move was down. Interesting how they play it tomorrow as it sure looked like intervention to me. | easytimes

31/5/2006 22:50 | You couldnt hit water if you fell from a boat mid Atlantic never mind a price. But as has been pointed out to me, its only fantasy. You still making trades up and impressing no one? Anymore dodgy deal tickets with doctored times on them. | timeshare spiv
31/5/2006 22:47 | tub of lard - 30 May'06 - 19:34 - 19435 of 19455 trying a long. Did you sweat that one out for a profit? No wonder you wouldnt answer last night when asked what level you went in at. And to think you got the entry wrong by what, 80 points. Was that advice you were giving out? | timeshare spiv

31/5/2006 22:05 | So whats new, you learn to live and deal with it, it is often retail traders against institutions, with the big money managers having the clout. | jack tile
31/5/2006 21:56 | Last 1/2 hour of trading sure looked manipulated, but how and why I have no idea, why would the computers suddenly all start buying? nothing I can see suggests interest rates are going to stop rising. | alitak

31/5/2006 21:28 | 11168 Tomorrow is the first day of the month and that has often been a strongly positive day on the Dow recently (5 out of the last 6 were positive, average rise 66 points and each of those days achieved an intra-day rise of over 60 points). Mark Fischer's ACD theory has it that when the range of the first day is clearly broken (in both price and how long the market spends there) it has a greater chance of being the high or low for the next 20 or so trading days. Data supports this: January 06 Dow cleared first day range on second day and stayed above until OpEx. February 06 Dow made lower lows for the next four days, then got a boost from declining oil prices (which were $68 at the start of the month and $59 at OpEx), cleared the opening range and went higher into expiry. March 06 Dow made lower lows for the next five days, then got a boost from the Non Farm Payroll numbers, cleared the opening range and went higher every day into expiry. April 06 Dow stayed chopped about and did not breakout of the opening range until the last week before expiry, when the FOMC minutes led to a four day rally into OpEx. May 06 Dow cleared the opening range and rose to a peak on the 10th May. Actions by the BoJ (Governor Fukui has taken out more than $140bn of liquidity from the Japanese market since March 9th) and the prospects for his ending ZIRP led to a sharp decline below the opening range into expiry. | miata
31/5/2006 21:21 | trading the Dow usually is a waste of an evening when it's being fixed, the day after is usually a better indicator of its direction. | easytimes

31/5/2006 21:11 | good end for the bulls but i am wary of the tendency to reverse FED movements the day after so i have off loaded some of my longs... that was definitely a tree shake... lots of weak hands out there and a lot of people got to initiate new shorts on the false break downwards... hope everyone here made some money today... | spec97
31/5/2006 21:11 | Tonight (ie Friday in China) the Bank of China IPO (the world's largest for six years) floats. | miata
