Markets continue to be becalmed and our shares were not doing very well early on. In the end our investments market performed against the FTSE100 today with a (0.09%) decline as opposed to (0.14%) for FTSE100. Of the now 40 shares, we had 13 Up, 20 Down & 7 Unchanged. Stock level 57.9%.

All this research I have done, coming to conclusion that I may just build up bigger holdings in some of the companies that I have less invested in. The one exception being, wanting to add another gold miner.

May have misjudged XAR so re-bought initial tranche. Up to 40 companies with stock level now @ 57.9%.

TUI doing well for you, Gateside...another bad decision by me to offline it.

Added a bit more weight to our cash accounts by re-buying VOD and relocating BT.A and Adding further shares...so now 39 companies and stock level upped to 57.6%.

Our investments market performed against the FTSE100 today with a 0.34% improvement as opposed to 0.28% for FTSE100. Of our remaining 39 shares, we had 22 Up, 15 Down & 2 Unchanged.

FTSE100 a little disappointing relative to America and Germany but its Up wave has now extended to 7 days and @ 7298 has put on 02.88%...getting closer to 7354 but should probably still be regarded as a 78.46% recovery of the prior 13 day Down wave (7354:7094).

Planned purchases and possible sells did not happen this week for obvious reasons.

Will catch up with the Markets next week.

I now think it more likely than not (odds perhaps 4/6) that FTSE100 will extend beyond 7354 during the next 8 days or so. My estimate is that the prospective 7094 based third principal wave will put on c04.50% and reach c7413...unclear whether there would be further Up waves after that.

Consequently, our stock level may be a little light so will probably Add to Trackers early next week if prices are not too prohibitive.

Our investments market performed against the FTSE100 today with a 0.45% improvement as opposed to 0.40% for FTSE100. Of our remaining 39 shares, we had 26 Up, 9 Down & 4 Unchanged.

For the week as a whole our investments ended up gaining 01.42% which was a moderate outperformance against the FTSE100 which was Up 00.99% (7188:7259). Overall, our assets were Up 00.91% on the week. The calendar year performance table is shown below :-

FTSE250~~~~~+03.74%~~(18077:18714 + 00.22% Dividend Yield)
FTSE AS~~~~~+02.30%~~(3873:3951 + 00.29% Dividend Yield)
FTSE100~~~~~+01.93%~~(7143:7259 + 00.31% Dividend Yield)
Invisage~~~~+01.30%~~(Improved again during last 2 days of week)
Videans~~~~~+01.10%~~(Solid week)
Gateside~~~~+00.87%~~(Excellent all round performance on the week)

Started to defend again i.e. take some profits and reduce exposure by eliminating some individual companies (not trackers at this stage). Consequently stock level reduced to 56.2% from 64.6% at the end of last week. Our portfolio, therefore, includes 43.8% in cash.

FTSE100 has today further extended its Up wave to 6 days and @ 7275 has now recovered 69.62% of the prior, 13 day Down wave (7354:7094). Now it becomes interesting!

Reduced on some of our individual stocks so stock level down to 58.3%...and close to selling 4 or 5 others if the SPs reach my current targets.

FTSE100 has now managed to extend its Up wave to 5 days and @ 7239 has now recovered 55.77% of the prior, 13 day Down wave (7354:7094). We could certainly get c7276+ tomorrow if Miners join the party.

Quite frankly it all seems like a struggle to me and there could be a sharp move Down any day now. Consequently, I may well sell quite a few shares tomorrow if we get a few decent bids.

Did anyone notice that FTSE250 hit an ath yesterday @ 18665? The previous high was set on 4 Oct 2016 @ 18607.

At 18665 it had rallied 24.83% from its 27 Jun 2016 low of 14952. Unfortunately, our HSBA tracker (HMCX) is underperforming a tad having only managed 1790.5p yesterday which is just 22.78% ahead of its 27 Jun 2016 level of 1458.28p.
