mudbath:_ Was some 2 years ago and mainly concentrated on how he motivated the management and staff of the investee companies, rather than the robustness of the underlying fundamental technologies. At that stage I was trying to make up my mind as to whether the correct incentives were in place - It was only after that that I started digging into the addressable markets.

Sorry This is probably not too much help.

mudbath:- Interesting presentation. Liked management having 55% Unless they take it out in increased wages (I always am a bit of a cynic) but looks as though there may be good potential.

PUGUGLY,
Agreed about AGL's potential, although you did need to use that word "assuming".
You can watch 5 minutes of BQ on Share Crazy.

My son in law has worked with him fairly recently and was impressed.BQ has serious contacts in North America and does seem to possess a touch of that magic dust that changes opportunities into serious contracts.
Targets are transient things!!
I will be delighted when WSI hit 10 pence;fully expect 20 pence shortly afterwards;with my 18 month ball park figure being 30 pence ++,which as I have mentioned will trigger the CEO's share options.
WSI has never had ANY debt and with gross margins over the past two years running at 97%, the impending surge in revenues/profitability will translate, most part, into CASH.
If there had to be an "if",so to speak,it would be that WSI will need to re-invest some part of their previous years £1.4million cost cutting in order to cater for the set up costs, which seem inevitable considering the apparent scale and global diversity of the new retail (and other)client wins.
Interesting volume on Thursday at 500,000 + all being shown as buys.

mudbath:> imo a conservative target price for AGL is over £1.00 assuming only one of there investee companies makes it through all the hurdles. If more than one then could be significantly higher. ie. some 200% higher than at the moment. What target to you have for WSI ?

While I have in the past spoken to AN I have never been able to get hold of BQ. Have you spoken to him? If so how did he come across ?

Your the man battlebus ( 87 plays 233 ), yet on this occasion your cessation of buying means all the more for me.I am selling the last of my AGL on Tuesday in order to fund one last purchase of WSI.Like you,I just cannot believe that investors have not yet woken up to the massive potential here.Hope I can buy before any rise as, imo, WorkPlace WILL hit the top of the leaderboards sooner rather than later.

Mudbath i have been buying since the update expecting the shareprice to rise each time but not so. This leads me to believe they are holding the price due to corporate action. It's just a thought and has stopped me adding till an annoucement.

Since the trading update on March 16th,well over 1,000,000 shares in WSI have been bought whilst there have been virtually NO registered sales. The share price in the meantime has remained rooted around 7.5pence.
Workplace Systems is an ALL IN investment for me,so high is my confidence in their business model being about to generate significant, increasing and above all recurring revenues way above any previous level.
It has been WSI's practice to reinvest their annual recurring revenues (currently circa £4million)into research and development/technological enhancement and whilst this might have been viewed earlier as a little top heavy,it is at last bearing fruit..
For a micro-cap such as WSI to suddenly have not one but TWO, GLOBAL retail industry leading software solutions in "Task Management" and "OnLine" is of enormous significance.
CEO Barnaby Quinn ,for me,is making some excellent strategic decisions, inluding moving WSI hosting over to Navistar and in taking Infor as a partner in order to enhance Workplace's access to the TOP 20 global retailers.
At this stage it is difficult to quantify JUST HOW BIG in terms of revenues and additional profitability Task Management and OnLine licensing is about to become.
On a particularly cautious note then we might see a net profit for the current year of £3million(eps 2 pence) with the promise of more serious progress clearly evident for future years.
On this basis I see the S.P. moving over 30 pence on an 18 month view, which would neatly trigger the CEO's 10,000,000 performance related share options(7.5 pence)thus providing Barney Quinn with a richly deserved bonus.
We could all recieve a dividend as well !!
I just CANNOT see ANY downside here.In my opinion the stock is on the cusp of a serious re-rating.As such it is unlikely that investors will have many further opportunities to buy WSI shares, certainly at 7.5pence levels and probably not below 12pence.

The following HUGELY SIGNIFICANT NEWS,has yet to be released by WSI.

TRANSFORMATIONAL INCREASES in Workplace revenue streams and profit levels are the only possible results .

At 7.25pence their does not appear to be ANY current weighting in the price for either the impending significant GLOBAL revenues from "Task Management" or from take up of its new SaaS offering "OnLine" with its 100++ new customers, including the US Tier 1 retailer, already gained in the last few months alone.

INFOR..The worlds 3rd largest business software supplier,
now partners WSI to deliver WorkPlace's "Task Management" technology,
to its 2,000 retail customers including
ALL 20 of the TOP 20 RETAILERS WORLDWIDE.
According to Infor:-

these customers have made it clear that a TASK MANAGEMENT SOLUTION is their TOP 2010 Information Technology requirement, and that they need the solution to adjust to the way they do business, not the other way around.

Infor's NEW MODULAR(WorkPlace Systems)TASK MANAGEMENT offering enables streamlined task-related communication and data exchange among retail locations and corporate and/or regional headquarters. The functionality enables faster creation and deployment of in-store tasks, with built-in efficiency mechanisms such as timers and feedback solicitation, helping ensure execution consistency.

The TASK MANAGEMENT MODULE IS POWERED BY TECHNOLOGIES FROM WORKPLACE SYSTEMS , an Infor partner. The module can be purchased and installed separately, giving retailers the flexibility to add only the capabilities they need when they need them, with less disruption to their established business processes.

The Task Management module shares the same technology architecture as the rest of Infor's Workbrain solution, thereby allowing easy integration at a reduced technical overhead. It is available now to all current or prospective Infor WFM Workbrain customers.
............................................................

From Wall Mart(and Asda)downwards then,the top 20 worldwide retailers(according to Infor)are clamouring for WSI's" Task Management "software.
It is also crucial to acknowledge that retail is just one of Infor's specializations.Additional avenues for the further uptake of OnLine AND Task Management remain as yet untrodden!!
.............................................................
OnLine and Task Management software IS therefore in the process of being installed in TOP retailers worldwide.Investors in WSI could not INVENT a better scenario if they tried.++.
...............................................................
BUY ,BUY and BUY AGAIN ar the present CRAZILY LOW 7.25 pence.
WSI imo IS A SHOE IN 5 BAGGER(for starters) on an 18 month view.
Dont forget WSI has £10million in tax losses(equivalent to M/Cap)to offset against future profits.
A rocket GIF will be needed here soon.

battlebus-Taken from the final accounts:-
"Gross margins remained high as in previous years at 97% ."
++Taken from the most bullish profits warning(EVER):-
"The company maintains a substantial and growing pipeline of new business in the US, Pacific and Europe and remains confident of its ability to win significant business during
the Financial Year ending 31 March 2011 with the new SaaS product, OnLine, and
through its new Task Management Distribution Partner in the US. "

I must just add that Edison's suggest A MUCH HIGHER level of fees for OnLine.

VIZ:-

£400 per week licence fee for a SMALL client.
£10,000 per week for the largest chains.

Do the MATH-should Task Management attract similar licence fees-(as according to Infor their 2000 clients, including the TOP 20 WORLD RETAILERS are ALL CLAMOURING to sign up).

POTENTIAL REVENUES ON EDIDON'S FORMULA = £50MILLION +++ PER ANNUM.(at a 97% gross profit margin)

RECURRING.
(And that's just retail)

7.5 pence(M/CAP £10 million......................................Not for much longer.

And one FINAL final observation.
INFOR(the 3rd largest business software firm in the world;a £2billion company and WSI's new partner) have 2000 retail clients identifying" task management" via Workplace Systems International's module as their number ONE 2010 priority.(see posts 79/85)
Lets pencil in just £200 per week(average) licence fee.
2000 x £10,000 = £20 Million per annum.....
RECURRING.

One last thought before allowing the thread to lapse into slumber once more.
What WSI have not put into the public domain and their reasoning(whatever that might be)for the omissions is most intriguing.

NOT REPORTED:-

The name of the Tier 1 N.American retail group at which OnLine is up and running at over 4,000 stores.

Details regarding the 110 recently added customers, new to WSI(worldwide),now utilising OnLine.

News of their recent parnership with Infor(THE WORLDS 3rd LARGEST BUSINESS SOFTWARE COMPANY WITH ASSETS OF £2BILLION)which carries the potential to dramatically improve WSI's revenues and profitability.

Quite possibly then there are further developments occurring which will serve to enhance shareholder value once the company feels in a position to update the Market more fully.

Whatever the result for Y/E 2010,WSI must be incurring very significant set up costs installing OnLine at so many diverse new outlets. In the circumstances their ability to stay cash generative for the 12 months in question is indeed most creditable.

PUGUGLY.
One of the key drivers here is the CEO Barnaby Quinn. The North Americans seem to like and respect our man;where he enjoys a huge network of contacts from his days with Sherwood. His business plan for configured SaaS solutions to take the higher ground over customized offerings is a reflection of a similar massively successful strategy employed during his earlier tenure at SSP.Quinn holds options over 10% of WSI.There seems little doubt that he will be giving it 100%,24/7,whilst investors sit back and enjoy the ride.
With Edisons reducing their FY profit F/C to break even, there should be plenty of opportunities ahead to accumulate stock at current depressed levels.Edisons by the way do not comment on the Infor parnership as it has yet to be announced by WSI.

"Double" battlebus ??
I have this earmarked as at least a three bag by sometime next year;with (hopefully) much more to come.
There has to be a possibility that WSI will spin off its North American division.
Whatever lies ahead its going to be both fun and profitable.

Another MAJOR contract just announced :-
After an extensive selection process Wickes selected WorkPlace Systems to provide the workforce management system and the consulting services to review all store processes to produce a representative set of labour standards and to develop an accurate operating model. This would enable the workforce management system to generate an accurate forecast of workload demand.(etc)
