Filtering trolls is the best way forward - they add precisely nothing to the debate.

Catching up with today's IC - there's a two-page spread on WPCT, reasonable enough, but lacking any insight.

But interesting to see that John Baron has dropped WPCT (at 56p) - seemed odd that he bought it in the first place.

@daffy - too little, too late from HL, but interesting looking at the LTI fall to think how many must still follow the No Wealth 50.

Brian,

Tracking back through your posting history reveals 58 posts, every one of which seemed to involve attacking other posters, and none of which showed the slightest indication of either wisdom or wit.

That's a sorry record.

Since you are clearly incapable of posting anything of value or that would even raise a smile, I have added you to my filter list.

EC, no point wasting your effort on the goon. The Woodford Elite seems immune to shame. The biggest retail investment fiasco in years and they still post here? Furthermore, I think it will get significantly worse. Many remain in denial.

HL seem to have belatedly developed a sense of ethics after the WEIF fiasco. They've removed Nick Train's funds from its Wealth 50 today, citing conflicts of interest as HL shares are a top ten holding in Lindsell Train

Mochyn,

If you're going to mock other's spelling, you should perhaps first learn the correct spelling for what you clearly are not.

Jonwig - not only are you a brilliant deconstructor of the Woodford fiasco, you have come up with lines funnier than the Woodford Elite can only dream of.

Well done!

Good point @jonwig - as opposed to average down (KIE..).

Wonderful, as ever, solonic.

I expect both of them went to the famed Pontypridd Technical Seminary of Investment Excellence?

Oh, and the sainted jonwig, as well, of course. Mustn't miss HIM out must we? Only 17,103 posts, though.

Omigosh, Omigolly, Omigod. At last the word has come down from on high. I didn't risk having my breakfast in case I missed it. SpectoAcc has dared to speak what no man has ever dared to speak before. The only truth in investment is "You buy cheap, sell dear". I repeat "You buy cheap, sell dear"

Bloody hell I wish I'd known that when I started in this game. Why oh why didn't I realise it before I made my last million? I should have waited for the coruscating super-intelligence of the Messiah himself. LO, SpectoAcc, the man who has distilled the wisdom of the ages into a mere 9121 posts in the revered Book Of ADVFN.

It is especially touching that a man who is of not-normal intelligence has overcome his distractions and disadvantages to give us the benison of his advice. As we know he has long ago reached the pinnacle of investment success. Did he not tell us so HIMSELF?

"... and try to get it right more often than you get it wrong." And if you get it wrong, admit it, sell and move on.

And so may all your losses be small ones.

Investment - it isn't rocket science. You buy cheap, sell dear, and try to get it right more often than you get it wrong.

Somewhere along the line, Neil lost that - in a big way.

Pity he can't admit it to his investors (who really ought to have figured it out by now).

Anyone seen WIM data for June yet, in particular IFF size?

Ha ha I'd not considered the 20% limit - he'll just buy it in WEIF then IMO. He's sufficiently delusional to do that.

In fact - I'm surprised WIM hasn't tried setting up a new fund yet..

Proton becoming an embarassment:

WEIF refusing to fund further commitments, and WPCT's stake could go above the allowable 20% of its assets. The logical solution (sack Woodford) isn't considered, but we can see why Susan Searle needs to spend more time on this job.

Thanks @daffy, have seen them dumping some, but not that many. Look at what a list of disasters most of those are, and very sensible to exit before Woody can hammer the prices even more.

Of that list - I don't mind CRST, TW, BVS, CSP, but why be so over-exposed to a politically dubious sector, trading near the top of it's P/BV range.

I hold NRR, but there's a big overhang.

I can't stand CIR, KIE, Amigo.

BCA fair enough, close it on the bid.

BAB, SPI are the only two I'd be uncertain about - BAB looks a sell still, but is "cheap", SPI looks like it'll get taken out eventually - but at what price, and when..

Woody couldn't stock-pick if you paid him. Wait - they are.
