03/2/2009 12:19 | Not hugely surprising given WIN's history. Cash is up 900k from H1 and now represents 40% of the market cap so it's a question of whether they ever get better at managing market expectations and generate market interest. I suspect this won't happen so the sooner someone buys them the better. Given their growth potential (if you strip out the premium rate business), a buyer should be willing to pay 6-8 x FCF/EV which would give a price of 130-160p. Maybe I'll buy a few as a punt on the takeover. | wjccghcc
03/2/2009 12:07 | No comment on the trading update? As ever the statement versus the numbers seem to tell a different story. Very bullish words but the numbers state they are finding it tough to translate this into profits. I am curious that UK labour costs are up. I understood that they have laid a number of people off, so doesn't exactly hang together. | leighbarton
07/1/2009 16:48 | historically we are due a trading update next week. personally I am happy for them to remain independant if their growth is back on track and the dividend policy is intact then I see this being a better play than a cash buyout unless it is at a substantial premium. 07/1/2009 15:48 | I have emailed the co. the CEO is Graham Rivers is due to call me..... | renewable
06/1/2009 17:03 | agreed - what we reckon ? 150p minimum surely (assuming it happens and nri) | value viper
03/1/2009 17:08 | I take it no one has any ideas / rumours of the potential suitor ? I have a modest holding but it would certainly be a bonus to receive a cash offer ..... All the best. | renewable
12/12/2008 11:40 | GT, the stock market is quiet but let's face it buying shares in a very illiquid stock whose track record is patchy may not be the brightest thing to do even if they are in bid talks. There might be more interest if we had visibility as to who the counter party is. I can see no reason why this should not be disclosed given they have gone exclusive. That at least would give us a view of the likely nature of the deal. | leighbarton
12/12/2008 08:27 | I think the stock market has died. No postings for 3 months then confirms it is in bid talks (after being in talks with multiple suitors) and still nothing. At least a couple of buyers seem to be awake this morning but not many. GT | goonertone
18/9/2008 11:07 | results seem an OK read to me. second half to be better; didn't get a brilliant sense of where the potential takeover is - stressed the prelim nature again..hmm. but fundamentally not expensive, cash in the bank, doing deals - think they remain a strong hold but no advice intended ! | value viper
10/9/2008 12:51 | Do companies not have to issue notice of intended date for accounts anymore? for those of you who aren't aware the accounts are to be released on 15th september which should clarify the comments made in the trading statement and hopefully give an update on current trading and the potential takeover. GT | goonertone
12/8/2008 12:09 | seems a decent call gooner. i recall WNN and MOB (as it was) were often tipped alongside each other in the past. just hope the deal actually comes off ! | value viper
12/8/2008 11:57 | Anyone any thoughts on who our mystery third party is. I personally am going for Zed (new owners of Monstermob). They are global partners with AOL who we have recently signed up with and are also clients of pocket group. They have always been more into content than back office so they may well see this as a cheap entry into that area. GT | goonertone
07/8/2008 12:56 | Conspiracy theory coming up(please take with a pinch of salt) All of the following is fact just the links and insinuations are leaps. WIn was merrily going about its business building a succesful brand and product across europe. Mr Stakebuilder has been building up their stake, via a third party nominee, sees that although the company has had a slight slow down in H1 they have good news starting to come through which hasn't quiet filtered through to market and knows that if we get to full year price will start to rerate. Therefore they speak to company about issuing a trading statement, which they weren't going to do, knowing that the bad news will be pounced upon and the good news ignored in the current market. They then wait for the price to drop leave it a couple of weeks and then go for the approach before to much news gets out and the price goes back up. All supposition of course but the large shareholder pushing for a trading statement is correct and the co news is appearing but being overshadowed by the trading statement. EG AOL signed up and much more recently Greece finally coming good. Oh well back to my desk before the boss gets back. Gt PS Have you seen the Greek MD? who wouldn't do business with WIN.( | goonertone
07/8/2008 10:53 | Announcements of takeovers aint what they used to be. To much volatility in the FTSE100 and 250 has got all the traders money tied up over there, plus to many deals falling through means people reluctant to come in unless more evidence is given on potential purchases/intent etc. Happy to hang around with the rest of my shares for now as I still think its massively underpriced. GT | goonertone
07/8/2008 10:22 | 8T Luckily most are in my SIPP so can't get at them. GT | goonertone
07/8/2008 10:18 | No vv. At least it was 750 and not 7500 GT, Arda will let the market know if there will be a bid or not, just watch their movements and that will tell you all you need to know. | 8trader
07/8/2008 10:15 | u still in this 8 ? no certainty etc but surely if it happens will be at prices higher than this - price action has been dire but that takeover has finally come | value viper
07/8/2008 10:13 | lol What a bunch of crooks, that house broker sells as much as possible at 140p shortly before the warning and then after that sits on the bid and takes everything that comes their way before a bid approach. Maybe it's sour grapes. | 8trader
23/7/2008 08:13 | Trader Can't say I blame you there are plenty of other opportuities out there. I am staying put for now. might be a mistake but the profit warning was based on timing and one off costs and not a deterioration in their market like many others out there. The initial spike down last week was due, i believe, to a report on premium rate services being monitored more stringently but WIN is moving away from this side of the market and so should have no great effect. With regard to Arden the shocking thing is they released a buy note on WIN yesterday morning but cut their forecast to eps of 21.6 for 2008 and 26.6 for 2009. GT | goonertone
22/7/2008 21:56 | Nice bit of insider trading by the house broker Arda who obviously were aware of what was happening in the weeks preceding todays news. The price reactions shows this news is well priced in but in this market and with this stock so quiet it was best to cut and run rather than hold and suffer. | 8trader
22/7/2008 08:08 | It is unusually worded, but it certainly is a profit warning. | mjcrockett
22/7/2008 07:56 | profit warning? | lqs |
