15/1/2019 16:09 | but haven't they already agreed the price? €271m which I thought was a lot anyway! | bor491
15/1/2019 13:21 | bor491 - the rumour was that a fund has bought a very large holding in Mr Green with a view of squeezing Will hill. if you actually look William Hill would now be way better of walking away from the deal and buying LeoVegas. | oneillshaun
15/1/2019 11:05 | oneillshaun15 what issue - what have you heard? | bor491
15/1/2019 11:04 | Well we will know in a day or two, last day for accepting terms is 17.01, all regulatory approvals achieved, so unless a thunderbolt hits then I assume it is in the bag, but I am slightly concerned about the US situation, more friggin uncertainty! | wormhasturned
15/1/2019 10:44 | Wormhasturned - the deal for Mr Green has not yet gone through and if rumours are true there could be an issue on that purchase. | oneillshaun
15/1/2019 10:15 | Think this one marked down like others on Wire Act interpretation, and the moves by Sheldon Adelson to have sports betting and online gambling brought under original act, but the purchase of Mr Green a far bigger deal, WMH should recover, but I personally think a cloud appearing over the US, lawyers will have a field day, but Nevada should not be immune to legislation! | wormhasturned
13/1/2019 21:46 | Yes looks like oversold territory. 200p should be easily achieved as confidence returns. It's been a steep decline. | nick rubens
10/1/2019 13:53 | UBS upgrade to Buy today 285p tgt | wynmck
08/1/2019 08:44 | Peel Hunt upgrade to Buy today | wynmck
07/1/2019 08:39 | Rising trend forming, resistance at circa 185p but still great value buy in consolidating market imo dyor ofc. | rathean
19/12/2018 11:03 | 888 pre statement shows the US potential They are flying and Hills has a long way to rise to get back to fair value even though FOBT will mean them taking a large hit | trentendboy
18/12/2018 19:39 | private equity made an offer for Cherry AB today. M&a around elsewhere in the sector | dan_the_epic
18/12/2018 15:19 | I am afraid you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Shops were highly cash generative long before FOBTs appeared. The online market has taken but a slice of that. There will be further consolidation and at this price WMH will be a prime target. | andyj
17/12/2018 12:08 | To many bookies in the high street, FOBT was the only thing keeping the shops going. Going to be interesting. Bet 365 proves online the only way to go, not bricks and mortar. | montyhedge
17/12/2018 12:05 | All true but all in the price | trentendboy
15/12/2018 11:38 | Going to be a massive reduction in FOBT earnings from April when max stake on their machines is reduced to £2. I was in Newcastle yesterday, they queue up to lose money on these things and they are highly addictive but come April that is a lot of money not getting lost and not everybody will migrate online. People can self exclude online but pointless in a shop as you walk around the corner and there's 3 more bookies in every street. | dave4545
15/12/2018 11:24 | cheers ouiey1000, It looks cheap simply based on the chart, but not having done any research I'm not sure what the issues are but certainly earnings disappearing away is the cause of a share price fall and demise of a company. Could do with someone knowledgeable to give a brief rundown of events here as I've not followed Gambling legislation changes and such. | nick rubens
14/12/2018 19:03 | Took some the other day at 158, but just a dabble mind you | ouiey1000
14/12/2018 16:30 | Any takers for the shares at this level? Does anyone know of any forecasts ahead? cheers NR | nick rubens
11/12/2018 09:07 | Or maybe 125... | rathean
05/12/2018 08:32 | In the interests of disclosure I sold out my recent top up on the 166p spike, did not like the resistance and lack of momentum. I may try again at 150, I mean how low can this go... famous last words. | rathean
03/12/2018 00:12 | Very close to multi year support at 150. Difficult to see sentiment reversing anytime soon, but this is a cash generative business, with a lot of bad news written in, a good yield and promises of future growth in the US. Watching closely. | andyj
29/11/2018 23:10 | The rebased numbers are about 14p of earnings in 2020 after all the FOBT malarkey, and a divi of around 8p to be cautious. So this is on 12x pe and a 5% yield on what should prove to be the lowest numbers for the next 5 years. That pe is more like 10 if they stopped investing into the US. I think it has been falling recently because the FOBT and RGD lark has been pulled forward to April so the trough gets pulled toward, but hardly impacts long term prospects Normally you actually have multiple expansion when you are looking at the lowest trough numbers, but that hasn't happened yet. If they crack the US, the business will be 2-3x larger than now IMO on my rough numbers. The market has switched to giving zero credit for the US opportunity and is valuing it on a business now in terminal decline in a UK market that is becoming less attractive My instinct is that this has now well overshot to the downside, and this must be becoming very interesting for an overseas peer to look at. The brand value here in William Hill is very strong in the UK | pireric
29/11/2018 22:38 | Mr Green is a right pile of pants never has any offers on or free bets going no incentive for anyone to play there apart from immediate payout as soon as you click withdraw you get an email to say your withdrawal has been approved and cash is on its way which is impressive.Unlike some high street reputable brands i won very good money last night and instead of getting an approved e mail got one asking for more documents bank statements etc and your funds are back in your casino account.Yeah right u mean hope u lose it all whilst we play games don't think so self excluded for a week whilst this is sorted out you don't get this nonsense at mr green it has to be said . | rbonnier
29/11/2018 22:22 | In theory NYBoy all the bad news is priced in and then some. The buy case is that Mr Green and the US will offset the fall in revenues from FOBT. Big discount to peers at 7 times earnings and the yield must be 8% by now. Balance sheet stronger having exited Oz and restructured debt so divi in theory is sustainable for now. Whole sector has derated and Hills keeps falling through its support. One to buy and hold with a 2 year view. Excellent brand (esp in US) and likely to get swallowed by a US leisure company IMO unless Hills does a deal first. I thought it was cheap at £2!!!! I hold GVC and Gan myself but this is on my watchlist | rimau1 |
