Berenberg Bank analyst Richard Hatch maintained a Buy rating on Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM – Research Report) on July 7 and set a price target of $49.00. The company's shares closed last Wednesday at $35.05, close to its 52-week low of $33.86. Currently, the analyst consensus on Wheaton Precious Metals is a Strong Buy with an average price target of $53.98, implying a 57.1% upside from current levels.

Bought a good chunk of these at US$35.50 yesterday. Impressive growth profile - potentially eclipsing 1m oz in the next 5 years. Top tier management with a huge cash pile ready to deploy into new deals.

Like other streamers, they'll pay a % of spot for the supply, then sell them into the market. For example, they'll have an agreement where they pay 20% of the spot silver price for an agreed number of Oz. They'll then sell that silver at the prevailing spot price, thus locking in an 80% margin.

I bought in for the first time about 3 weeks ago. During my research I think I remember the company saying that they never held on to the metals for investment purposes, instead they sell them into the market as they are received. Have I got this right?

If you look at the recent period when silver averaged about $1 higher than it is now, roughly between 4/8 to 19/09/20, the price of WPM averaged about $53, now it is only $43. Seems a really big difference for a much smaller difference in silver.

You can see we're at the lowest ratio since march so if silver goes up from here wpm should do really well.
