Saying you won something when you came 26th is an out and out lie, it's not even close to winning. Also saying you were an Economist when you worked in the Complaints Department is another out and out lie.

Indeed. Last Thursday late afternoon, the new one at Waterloo was packed out. More people standing than sitting - and that was with it being £4.78 / pint for the 'real ale'....

Conversely it might send more people to Spoons!
I'm now finding that with the closures in the SE London area it is becoming difficult and uncomfortable to find a seat let alone a Table in peak times!

What really annoys me and both parties are guilty of this is the freezing of the tax free allowance.it's already been frozen for 2 years now and is nothing more than an income tax rise by the back door. They are expected to freeze it till 2030 that's 8 years without a rise to keep pace with inflation. So they may say income tax has not gone up but in real terms it has.

I'm wondering if there could be a surprise positive at the end as is the tradition?
.. although I can't think of what it could be if so. Much of the content seems to have been given away already to avoid shocking the market.
