Good to see Tim Martin putting his critics right, pointing out to the Investor's Chronicle their inaccuracies in this week's magazine, while reminding everyone that the FT was one of the most ardent 'Remain' publications out there, at the time of the 2016 Referendum.

gilt, only half right I reckon,
but get where you are coming from.

As an example, paying higher dividends would benefit TW, as the main shareholder,
however he's arguably put the needs of the (longer term) business first in the low payout.

Tim won't be around forever, like the rest of us.

Yeah smoking/vaping ban outside is a step to far and would be a huge negative for them, as a non smoker I have no issue with people smoking outside.

Good company, high ROCE & Free cashflow, but not being run for minority shareholders.
Most near me overcrowded at peak times, should raise prices above inflation, to alleviate overcrowding. Prices too low compared to competitors, a 10% increase would still be way lower than nearest competitor. Restart buy backs 2025.
