22/3/2024 17:41 | EI, I've not had a chance to look at the JDW results with a clear mind after the shock of ACRL this morning. I would say Tim and his friends run JDW to their own tune. JDW have kept a lid on the price rises and have room to increase prices, almost at will, as they are the cheapest by far in the industry "A 2% price increase at the till has a 40% drop through to profits" Time 16:40 I do not know how accurate that 2% number is but IMO JDW have room to push prices up as inflation drops, boosting margins to historical levels. I don't hold JDW at the moment but may jump back in if JDW start the share buyback again. NLW increase is a negative headwind across the whole service sector so JDW may drift lower still in the short term. Euro 24 in the summer should also boost interest. | darrin1471
22/3/2024 17:13 | JDW should benefit from falling interest rates when the BOE catches up with reality. | bountyhunter

22/3/2024 14:32 | The Commercial Director just threw £10K @ £7.29... Just followed his lead, though £7.34 for me. Yes Tim on Ian King was slightly bemused re share price Nice to see the margin increasing ........ Don't forget there was another 3% - 4% added to prices early Feb. I am hopeful that margins will increase to 8% + come 2nd half year..... That is if everyone does not have the full english that Tim has promised will stay the same price until year end :-) | gwatson56

22/3/2024 12:00 | It might have done had he not added his usual moaning views on issues of the past. Great leader of business but very outspoken. Wonder if hes ever thought of becoming an MP | kpe
22/3/2024 11:41 | Tim Martin certainly thinks that the drop is not warranted. He just said on Business Live with Ian King that he would have bet any money that the price would have gone up today! | bountyhunter
22/3/2024 11:31 | Just wish Martin wld stop waffling on about Brexit and lockdowns and just get on and run the biz. He sounds deranged! | velocytongo
22/3/2024 11:14 | Wetherspoons: 'A story of impressive recovery' as profits rebuild and 1,000 pub goal remains But shareholders may be disappointed at a lack of dividend. | johnwise
22/3/2024 10:33 | The drop looks way overblown, in my view. Fundamentals are strong here, so couldn't resist adding a few more at 730. GLA! | senden11 |
