Trading is more like gambling, where you need a quick result and on to the next. Investing doesn't suit a gambler, imo. Where you may buy, but then hold for 6 mths or a year.

The effect it had on my life was immense.
It scared me half to death.
I stopped drinking maybe 20 years ago as a result of watching someone destroyed by something he had no control of.
Probably, as well, as a respect to my friend's memory.

As you are to gambling, I am to alcohol.
Destroys, lives and families.

Respect, Dear Sir, in your ability to move on.
It is not easy...

Respect your honesty, Gozzie.
I have lost 5 incredible friends to alcoholism.
Addiction is such a destructive disease.
To watch my very closest friend die of Alcoholism.
Soul destroying.
At 29, both he and his wife went to "a rest home in The Country" to address the addiction
15 years without a drink but thought he could have just a Beer or two was his destruction.
Within weeks his body had totally shut down, mentally he was destroyed.
Did go back into Rehab as we now now it.
Things went well but had a massive Heart Attack and passed away.
To watch the destruction of a close friend was heartbreaking.
Sadly, his wife was riddled with cancer at about 50 years old and died a year or so later.

So, I very much understand addiction problems.
As my friend once said, when he was not drinking, He was a drinker, that didn't drink...
Always in recovery. Sadly, he died too soon

Gozzie, Where are you most likely to catch Covid.

In your own home, where it wafts in through the window.
In a shop, wearing your mask.
In the park, wearing your mask.
In the pub, no mask, no social distancing, all your mates elephants, yawping at the Footie and kissing everyone.

Oh. Yes. Well, that's a hard one.

Can I ring a friend.

I suspect many of you live in Nice villages towns where people obey the rules and the pubs are nice and safe .Then you get these where they all play pool and watch football .You cant get a pin between them .They all get tarred with the same brush as I mentioned weeks ago .

Yeah but was just pointing out how silly the rule is. Surely they could just have it the same as meals but that you've got a slot say for 2 hours so you don't have the time to get too rowdy. Can't see the problem?

Gozzie- Why do you think it's safe to sit down for a meal but dangerous to sit down for a drink?

Yeah younger people are generally ok with it. My niece caught it in Cyprus a few weeks back with her boyfriend while visiting his family. She lost her sense of smell but apart from that was fine.
