11/11/2020 17:28 | Gozzie, this is the Tender sent out for an Al tool for ADR's in Sars 2 I've linked the source below, but the standouts for me are two sections which i've cut and paste. II.1.4) Short description: The MHRA urgently seeks an Artificial Intelligence (AI) software tool to process the expected high volume of Covid-19 vaccine Adverse Drug Reaction (ADRs) and ensure that no details from the ADRs’ reaction text are missed. IV.1.1) Type of procedure Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the Official Journal of the European Union in the cases listed below The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the directive Explanation: For reasons of extreme urgency under Regulation 32(2)(c) related to the release of a Covid-19 vaccine MHRA have accelerated the sourcing and implementation of a vaccine specific AI tool. Strictly necessary — it is not possible to retrofit the MHRA’s legacy systems to handle the volume of ADRs that will be generated by a Covid-19 vaccine. Therefore, if the MHRA does not implement the AI tool, it will be unable to process these ADRs effectively. This will hinder its ability to rapidly identify any potential safety issues with the Covid-19 vaccine and represents a direct threat to patient life and public health. Reasons of extreme urgency — the MHRA recognises that its planned procurement process for the SafetyConnect programme, including the AI tool, would not have concluded by vaccine launch. Leading to a inability to effectively monitor adverse reactions to a Covid-19 vaccine. Events unforeseeable — the Covid-19 crisis is novel and developments in the search of a Covid-19 vaccine have not followed any predictable pattern so far. source | ![]() rescuer

11/11/2020 15:59 | I agree to the extent for instance the pubs in London in general were useless where food was concerned and do remember when Spoons got going a lot of pubs went under, their own fault really in most cases. Youngs and Fullers pubs being the exceptions. | ![]() luderitz
11/11/2020 14:20 | I've always thought there are still too many pubs .In my area there used to be around 50 in a half mile area .There was still 25 open up until March .That spreads customers out too thinly but only 2 did food wetherspoons and one other that has been closed for months . | ![]() gozzie2
11/11/2020 14:15 | Tier 4 will be what Manchester will go in .Tier 3 plus no pubs open .Thats imo Gozzies never wrong lol . | ![]() gozzie2
11/11/2020 14:14 | We’ve been told over many many years about pub closures it’s a wonder we have/had so many to close. Personally I take all this with a very large pinch of salt. | ![]() luderitz

11/11/2020 12:24 | The efficacy data is credible - just incomplete. 'Completeness' won't alter the efficacy up/down from 90% all that much (that's statistics for you..) but the: - Efficacy breakdown by age is very important as is - Data on shedding and - What kind of illness (mild, serious, all) the vaccine prevents. All they are really waiting for now is some follow-up safety data from the 2nd jab - which will come in Week 3 of November (aka next week). | ![]() blusteradjuster
11/11/2020 11:26 | It HAS been tried on the elderly. However, the '90% efficacy' data hasn't (yet) been broken down by age. | ![]() blusteradjuster
11/11/2020 11:11 | Essential, indeed we are a very long way from normality. I am a natural optimist, however the vaccine news is some what over blown. Did you notice it has not be tried on the elderly. | ![]() konradpuss
