They will work for flu and covid if people comply .They aren't complying many of them theres no enforcement. The numbers will get low and if these tests in Liverpool work we can get on top of it .

Are you comfortable if you get poorly either with covid or another serious condition that needs intensive care and they say sorry we cant help .Why should a doc have to choose between patients who lives or dies .Nobody cares about what they go through mentally and these carers on minimum wage .Is nobody listening to these health professionals .Like I said wear a badge saying I dont want lockdown and if you get ill then they dont get treated if they have others in need .I think that's fair to solve this.

Gozzie- But you are deflecting from my main point. You are suggesting that covid restrictions (which you apparently want) work for Flu but not Covid. How can that be a sensible stance?

Its not a deflection its the truth whats happened when a country has taken its foot off the ball and let it rip .People die at home now in agony in checkoslovakia .Great for politics if you are not a tory .They would never get in again if that happened Do you really think Boris is doing this for his own gain .I dont .

Gozzie- I'm interested as you keep saying that you're always right yet your arguments seem full of holes.

Just saying.

Guitar .Its about not getting the health service overrun. What do you suggest they do when the hospitals get full which they would in winter and run out of oxygen .Is that acceptable.

Gozzie- It makes a massive difference if the whole world is being turned upside down on the basis of a supervirus that isn't actually the cause of death for a very large proportion or even the majority of its 'victims'.

Let's hope these quick tests in Liverpool work because if they do it will make a huge difference. We can get on top of it far easier. People will know they have it and be able to isolate and reduce the spread .That's if they can afford to comply .

The doc said he was running out of oxygen on the news tonight. They might end up in the covid pile but if you are lieing in a bed finding it hard to breathe I'm not sure you will be arguing have I got covid or flu .

Gozzie- What I'm pointing out is that you can't claim that Flu has all but disappeared due to social distancing/ masks but then accept the covid numbers while the same measures are in place.

It's clear that virtually all cases of Flu this winter will end up in the Covid pile.

Tbh it doesn't really matter what I think its what the govt does .I just agree with what they are doing but they have been too slow .Starmer knew that 2 weeks ago thats why he was clever in going along with the scientists .Boris said we couldn't lockdown and now it will get replayed to his detriment

Gozzie- You're suggesting that there won't be many Flu cases this winter because no one will be going out. So on that basis we won't be seing any covid cases either will we?

Its too hard work getting it through to people over here .The tory in Parliament today banging on about his civil liberties. He wouldn't be saying that if he was sat In A and E tonight waiting for a bed .

Lessons from the pastA major factor shaping South Korea's response was its ability to apply lessons learned during previous outbreaks, especially the country's MERS coronavirus outbreak in 2015, which resulted in 186 cases and 38 deaths. In the immediate aftermath, South Korea's legislature created the legal foundation for a comprehensive strategy for contact tracing-whereby anyone who has interacted with an infected person is traced and placed in quarantine. Amendments explicitly authorised health authorities to request patients' transaction history from credit card companies and location data from cell phone carriers-and to release the reconstructed movements in the form of anonymous "travel logs" so people could learn the times and places where they might have been exposed.A huge push with contact tracing and testing managed to corral an early rise in cases that threatened to spiral out of control-hundreds were reported each day, peaking at 909 cases on February 29 with most associated with a religious sect in the city of Daegu. The strategy also managed to snuff out several subsequent coronavirus clusters at churches, computer gaming cafes, and a call center. By April 15, South Korea safely held a national election, in which 29 million people participated. Voters wore masks and gloves; polling centres took everyone's temperature and separated anyone with a fever. No cases have been traced to the election.

We won't have many flu cases or covid if we shield and wear masks and tests as south korea have proved .

It wont now because nobody will be going out .If you stay away from people you cant catch it .Put a spacesuit on it will be difficult lol .I cant prove it until they let it rip and nobody shields. Then you will find 150000 plus dead and most will have to die at home in agony ..Good on the govt for us not having to go through that .

Essential- Yeah I'm guessing we'll see very few Flu cases this winter for some strange reason, just got a hunch.
