---ADDS BROKER COMMENT AND SHARE PRICE---

West African Minerals (LON:WAFM) is ready to embark on an infill drilling programme on its Djadom South iron ore property in Cameroon to prove up a "potentially significant resource".

Livic: Evil Knievil is shorting it, and I cannot say that I am surprised.

Given SDL has dropped to a price pretty similar to WAFM and it has a defined DSO resource in the same geographical place how can this not tank given that its only a pie in the sky project? It was elevated with respect to peers under the premise it would find lots of DSO next to Sundance.

Now Sundance has lost 75% of its value to be ~£200 million or about the same as WAFM there is no justification of WAFMs current market cap.

EK today...

"A PR friend of Dattels, who promoted/floated West African Minerals (WAFM), says that Dattels is not a fool and that WAFM are cheap. But a contact of mine stresses that this is a pretty fanciful view. Whom do I believe? Well, to give you a hint, I have given up on declarations of friendship in the PR sense. They mean nothing. Just think about it: was Lord Bell really a friend of Berezovsky? Stay short of WAFM at 50p."

I think the bear point is the recent large Chinese discovery of Iron Ore deposits will also need developing. Bound to dampen the appetite of funding and future demand for iron ore outside of China

Can't open a short with IG. Has EK taken all the short stock?

EK speaking today...

"Bellzone (BZM) has cratered. Next to go is, I suspect, West African Minerals (WAFM). Their iron ore is a long long way from economic possibility."

I've got some near-surface iron-bearing material with a high percentage content of iron...

It's a pair of scissors but I don't announce it to the world.

I may also have some paperclips which fall into the same category.

That imo is a rather generous assessment. The intercepts are very shallow & unimpressive grades - given they are ONLY interested in DSO & nothing else. The intercepts at Ngoa were FAR more impressive, by comparison, yet AFF holders thought those disappointing.

This is the third drilling campaign & an acknowledged genuis like Dattels thus far seems to not know where to look for DSO. He might do better to sneak over the licence edge into Mbalam - they have plenty there. Shame he has so many duff licences.

West African Minerals Corporation (LON:WAFM) has said that the initial assay results from WAFM's South Djadom drilling has confirmed a large scale near surface hematite mineralisation in Cameroon.
In this news:
• Results of first 42 drill holes in South Djadom intersected hematite and enriched banded iron formation mineralization in 11 holes over a 3km by 2km area
• 8 of these intersected intervals in excess of 30% Fe over a minimum thickness of between 8m and 23m, with 6 of these having grades over 505 Fe
• Testing underway of next 5km by 5km target in the overall 5km by 25km gravity and aeromagnetic anomaly at South Djadom
• Two more drill rigs will be mobilised for infill drilling.
FD Comment:
This is still a very early stage project and the results to date concur with the geophysical data. Over the next few months the Company expects to test the entire 25km long co-incident gravity and magnetic anomaly, especially with the addition of an additional RC and a diamond rig. Grades look a little sketchy at this stage and would need upgrading for export, but we need more results to get an indication of the size, shape and distribution of grades before being able to make a more informed opinion at this stage.

Dattels is no fool etc etc

it's just that they keep drilling, spending the cash - & finding no commercial DSO. These intercepts [again lo hit rate 8/44 holes] are so shallow as to be commercially worthless. But I suppose this is irrelevant?
