23/6/2017 05:42 | Citywire: Jefferies has initiated coverage of construction and development company Watkin Jones (WJG) which it says is ‘quietly disrupting’ the sector. Analyst Anthony Codling initiated coverage with a ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 250p on the stock, which was trading up 3%, or 6p, at 202p at the time of writing. Codling is impressed by Watkin Jones’ focus on the private rented sector, an area he believes most housebuilders are overlooking. ‘Watkin Jones is a subtle disrupter,’ he said. ‘It is not big or shouty, but has quietly noticed changing residential tenure patterns in the UK and has taken its business model out of the box to address those changes while most of its peers continue to focus on the inside of the box. ‘Perhaps if it made more noise it would attract the valuation premiums of other disruptors in the UK residential market.’ | jonwig

22/6/2017 08:38 | well that's 200p reached. Great co. Love the model and the mngt seem to know their stuff. Hopefully we will get some news on students allowed/restrictions by the PM today when she goes to the EU. Can't imagine she will want to damage the education industry which is a thriving sector in the UK. Glad to see WJG are exposing themselves more to private rented sector construction. | 2vdm

19/6/2017 21:44 | watched the interim video. One thing I do not recall hearing previously was, in answer to a question, that WJG was targeting the size of the Buy to Rent to be of equal size to the PBSA business in 7 years. Even by then, one imagines it might have good growth potential beyond that too. | jg88721
19/6/2017 08:56 | 200+ soon. | someuwin
19/6/2017 07:40 | My thoughts too. I saw somewhere too that cladding could also be an issue on new builds, not just retrofit. | rustle2

16/6/2017 11:04 | Nice - new highs again. WJG were mentioned in one of Neil Woodford's monthly investment update summaries yesterday, which may have brought in some more attention. | rivaldo
15/6/2017 14:59 | I unfortunately sold those in my trading account at 165. I still hold those in my ISA but only a third of my original holding. Realising my mistake I was hoping for a pull back to buy them back but alas that was not to be. | the big fella
15/6/2017 14:50 | I had sold out of this one previously because I was unsure how much growth there was left for pure student accomodation. Now I see they are moving into general build-to-rent as well, this opens up vastly more potential. I am now building my position back up. | someuwin
