20/4/2017 15:58 | Thanks jonwig. Looks promising for further rises for now. | uapatel
20/4/2017 14:02 | Well I added today with cash from ESP which seems to be going nowhere. Thankfully up approx 50% here after about six months but up about 3% after a long time with ESP! ESP were good dividend payers tho! | gswredland
20/4/2017 10:34 | Thanks Jon wig. Interesting | gswredland
20/4/2017 09:25 | RNS/s due ? Some heavy buying and ATH....Extremely positive.... | santangello
20/4/2017 09:16 | I'd imagine any trade earlier today of 164p was a buy. Delayed or not. | jonwig
20/4/2017 09:06 | Yet more large trades going through. Are these delayed trades? Still this does support us well above £1.60 | uapatel
20/4/2017 08:56 | Good news jonwig, cheers. Big buy trade just reported - 487,919 shares at 164p. EDIT - plus a further 953,000 at 164p.... | rivaldo
20/4/2017 07:39 | From The Times: Theresa May is being forced into a concession over migrant targets as part of the price for calling a snap poll. The prime minister is ready to soften her longstanding opposition to taking foreign students out of immigration totals, The Times has learnt. Mrs May has repeatedly rejected calls from cabinet ministers including Boris Johnson, Philip Hammond and Amber Rudd to exempt students from the pledge to reduce the number of net migrants arriving in Britain each year to the tens of thousands. Now she is offering to change the way that student numbers are calculated, with the promise of further concessions. The compromise is an attempt to ensure that an overhaul of the university system can pass through parliament in the next week. This is of course welcome news. In theory, since students leave as well as arrive, net migration shouldn't be affected too much. But entering is much more rigorously counted than leaving, so the effect could be quite marked. | jonwig
19/4/2017 16:58 | See Annex 1 - I imagine one of their funds was near to their internal limit. The WJG share price edged up pushing them over. Just my thought! | jonwig
19/4/2017 16:22 | I don't quite understand what Blackrock have done, buying 160K shares approx taking them over the 5% threshold and then reducing their holding immediately by 12K shares taking them below 5%. Any views? | 2vdm
19/4/2017 13:40 | Making new highs. | skinny
18/4/2017 09:38 | Blackrock increasing its stake. Good news. Shows confidence. | 2vdm
16/4/2017 13:05 | Here's to the programme. | skinny
15/4/2017 17:39 | Friday night Ch.4 programme called Great British Buildings Restoration of the year included shortlisted Birmingham Central Fire Station for which the developer was WJG. It didn't win but was well applauded. | alter ego
14/4/2017 16:51 | Thanks Jeff H, an interesting presentation which gave me a better overall idea of how the company functions. | clausentum
13/4/2017 12:50 | May well get a meaningful close above 160p today. Could then see a test of 170p in short order. | its the oxman
13/4/2017 09:15 | Completely agree. My post 834 wasn't intended to push Empiric, but merely for the comment about the student accommodation market in general. | alan@bj
13/4/2017 08:52 | I moved from ESP to WJG because of the uncovered dividend and, IMO, reckless rate of expansion. I communicated with ESP about a proposed project in Exeter, which was bad for the shareholders and local community, and was taken back by their attitude, they were only interested in expanding as fast as possible, including trying their luck in the most unsuitable places with a project where the numbers did not make sense. WJG seems to be managed sensibly, and the forward selling shows they minimise risk. I attribute this to the financial interests of those running the companies. ESP management will make money by expanding, and the WJG family have a lot of money still invested in the company, and so their interest is the same as mine! | clausentum
12/4/2017 16:02 | Martin Waller in The Times "Tempus" column, remarking on Empiric's recent results:- "There is seemingly not a lot that can go wrong in the student accommodation market and this could be an inflexion point for the price. Buy, then." | alan@bj
12/4/2017 12:02 | Positive statements this week from both UTG and ESP have highlighted the continuing potential for WJG's core student sector and thereby also WJG's still pretty cheap rating. | rivaldo
12/4/2017 11:25 | And do they reference without filtering the bad? We'll see if/when a tipster makes a sell recommendation. I hold by the way, just always on the lookout for warning signals. | crazycoops
11/4/2017 20:33 | it is 2017 coops. ;) as long as they reference without filtering the bad it's a really useful resource imho | jg88721
11/4/2017 18:41 | Hmmm! Not sure I'm so keen on the company highlighting tips (research notes yes, tips no) on their Twitter feed. Feels a bit rampy to me. | crazycoops |
