Volex plc

("Volex" or the "Company")

Director/PDMR Shareholding

i don't know whether this is positive or negative - any thought please!

Volex plc, the global supplier of complex assemblies for performance-critical applications and power products, was notified on 19 December 2019 that Daren Morris, Chief Financial Officer, exercised 200,000 of the 2016 share awards that vested in December this year under the rules of the 2009 Volex plc Performance Share Plan, through the Volex Group plc Employees' Share Trust (the "Trust").

On 19 December, the Trust sold 113,000 Ordinary Shares of 25 pence on Mr Morris's behalf at 135.5 pence per share in order to cover the 25 pence exercise price and the income tax and national insurance deductions due on the exercise, and transferred the remaining 87,000 Ordinary Shares to Mr Morris.

Following this exercise and sale, Mr Morris's shareholding in the Company has increased to 844,536 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.56 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.

You are just getting carried away - when boards start to fill up with people constantly predicting/ talking up the share it often means the rise has run its course. It won't go any higher by you posting multiple times a day

EV forecasts are 25% a year

Long-term forecasts of EV sales are typically smooth, ever-increasing curves. In reality, there is considerable variation. US year-over-year sales have ranged from a 4% drop in 2015 to over 80% increase in some years. Even if 2019 sales prove flat to 2018, the growth rate since 2013 will still average an impressive 25% per year.

Government mandates and incentives will play a major, if not the major, role in the near-term rate of EV growth.

Conservatives LOVE EV and want to throw £500m at it

Labour’s Barry Gardiner, the shadow international trade secretary, has said the exit poll is a “devastating blow” and a “deeply depressing prediction”. He’s forced to dodge a question already on Jeremy Corbyn’s future as Labour leader.

While he wants to wait for the actual results, he says Brexit has cut across every other issue in the campaign. Asked whether Corbyn would have to resign should these results be borne out, he has told Sky News:

Obviously, these are things that will be discussed by the leadership of the party over the next few days. It’s premature to discuss them now.

massive boost for VLX if exit polls of conservative victory are right

A new Conservative government would plough an additional £500 million into EV charging infrastructure and new electric vehicles, ensuring there was a chargepoint within 30 miles of each home in England and Wales.

That was the central pledge within Conservative leader Boris Johnson’s latest election speech, delivered late Wednesday afternoon, alongside increased investment in R&D and a ramp-up of offshore wind development.

Campaigning for next month’s General Election started in earnest this week, with Johnson delivering a speech at the London Electric Vehicle Company’s manufacturing facility in the West Midlands, a speech billed as one highlighting the Tories’ proposed ‘Green Revolution’.

“Here in the West Midlands - the home of the first industrial revolution - we are seeing a new industrial revolution, a green industrial revolution, creating thousands of jobs of environmentally sustainable technologies and thousands of jobs,” said Johnson.

Regarding EV - check this interview out from 26th September this year. strongly suggests they are partnered with a company who have '95% of the market' - Tesla I'm assuming.

Check the video from 1:40.
