They do say patience is a virtue - which I don't have...

Maybe this time we can break through the mid-80s electric force field (now that I have sold some in the 70s, and can be made to feel bad about it...)

Wonder what the three 1.6m trades were about at 75 - the recent rights issue price. Should be an RNS about the ownership change on its way.

Nice to see some new director buys. Bodes well. Everything looking good for the future. That last RNS only gives more confidence to hold.

Wow, I'm break-even on my first purchase at last (June 2014).

25% up overall as I tripled up at the end of 2015, shame I did not wait a month or two and get those shares for 1/3 less.

It's been a rocky ride on this one, it all looks much steadier now, let's hope it is.

Pretty disappointing after yesterday's fireworks. Possible that this is isn't helping (although fairly irrelevant):

Anyway, 3 year weekly chart - pull back was probably inevitable and for the long term good:

So everthing passed - new number of shares just about 140 million.

Second announcement notes that the CEO just stumped up for 11.65m shares at 75p, as per prospectus (or whatever), maintaning his 25% shareholding overall.

Just the odd £8.7 million found down the back of the sofa by Nat. Quite a cash commitment, on top of his previous (higher and lower priced) subscriptions.

Whither now?

Indeed - if you want to keep the same percentage overall, just go and buy them in the market, for more or less the same price.

Interesting valuation (maybe) - 18.1m Euros (structured) for 17.8m revenue (31.12.16 - what about 31.12.17?) But broadly 1 x income. Volex as a whole at 1 x income would make a nice valuation.

Sigh...

Placings without an offer to existing shareholders are always bad news with only one exception. If the placing price is close to or above the share price it is positive news. There is no point in offering shares to existing shareholders if the gain for them is small, the extra cost is just not worthwhile.

So, I am more than happy with the placing which will underpin the current 75p recovered price. Let's hope the acquisition is a good one.

....and another with placing at full price tho they should have offered us retail some at a decent premium IMHO as we are loyal and long suffering!

You couldn't have sold in any volume anyway from 85p down to 70 (when you could have sold some volume). Quite a lot did, and this lot appear to have been buying them, per the RNS:

3. Details of person subject to the notification obligation(iv)
Name Quaero Capital SA
City and country of registered 20 bis rue de Lausanne, GENEVA,
office (if applicable) 1201, Suisse, Switzerland

Up from sub 3% to over 5% - another mysterious value fund.

"Investing Away From the Crowds" - sounds a bit threatening.

Must be the oligarchs, being booted out of London by the latest government 'crackdown' (to be abandoned the next day), looking for a safe haven for their laundering - the Swiss are ever helpful at that sort of thing. Make you proud to be a holder...

:-)

Yes I've just been reading that. Nathaniel Rothschild. He's been head of the company since 2015 and owns 25% of the company. Just bought some back at 69.85p. Will add more on weakness. My buy is showing as a sell by the way

I think if the bloke who is CEO became the CEO because he owned 25% of the company and was fed up with assorted numpties trying and failing to get a handle on how to run the business, and being rewarded for their failures, then he is not likely to run it into the ground, thereby destroying the value in his shareholding.

Calm down, the price is where it was three months ago, up from 40p give or take for the prior twelve months. The speed of the fall is the dramatic element, as always.

Rubbish 0.5p missed, you must try harder :-)

Probably regret this but I've just bought the VIX ETF called VILX
as curve starting to tick up and reckon market volatility is imminent.

Only need ValiRx now for a full house..

Wadget actually just checked my account I got 85.5p not 86p. I'm just concerned about this moving to AIM. Are the directors etc trustworthy people? Does anyone know what they are paying themselves? I think this is a good indicator? Hawkins from Vislink paid himself a kings ransom for destroying the value company. Another one I can think of is Tony Stiff from Flowgroup another very high earner on AIM. He took the company from 49p all the way to below a penny. These are the type of people to be wary of in my opinion. Neither of course are still ate the respective companies rats and sinking ships come to mind. No doubt they will resurface elsewhere
